I was in a car accident what should I expect?

My car is fine but the other persons front end was a little damaged (part of the front end was damaged but it wasn't anything major). The lady said she was going to report it to her insurance. I've never been in an accident before so I don't know what to expect. A police report was filed but I didn't get a ticket. I asked the police if it was going to go on my record he said it might.

My parents are also on the insurance (I told my mom what happened)

I get what you're saying but it doesn't really work that way with an accident where one person is at fault. Some peeps in her situation would even try to claim they have a back or neck injury and really go after you/your insurance company. If it's just some minor repair hopefully it won't be bad for you.

Yo, the main factor is who was at fault. You said you stopped at the stop sign but then moved forward and she hit the side of your vehicle... if it was a 4-way stop then it's her fault. If she had no traffic signal to yield to traffic then you're at fault.

Usually if you were hit in the side it is the other person's fault. Ask the cops if you can get a copy of the police report. If you are not at fault your rates may not go up at all.
