Why does my dad never ask about my job or hobbies? but he will have deep conversations with my brother while in the same room I feel deeply hurt?

Your dad was never a 25-29 yr. old woman. It's much easier for him to identify with where your brother is at in life.

My advice is YOU start the conversation and see how he reacts to it. Keep in mind some parents (dads) are better suited for advice. But most dad's still want to listen, even if they don't fully understand what's coming out of a woman's mouth.

It sucks my mum wasn’t great and hasn’t been in the picture for the last 20 years I really had nobody growing it kind of affected me my dad seems more excited to be around my brother

Well I'm not trying to play amateur psychologist here, but maybe on some level he holds her disappearance on you. Not DIRECTLY understand. But guys pay for other guys treatment of a woman. And sometimes women pay for other women's treatment of a guy.
Again, not saying this IS the case. But maybe.

Yeah it sucks because my mother wasn’t in the picture for the last 20 years and i basically feel like I’ve just been tagging along as my dad seems to be more excited to be around my brother and if he isn’t in the room my dad will say “where is mike?” I feel invisible he never does this with me
