When your child has a tantrum, Do you usually give them what they want?

I don't have kids but hope to, some day. I'm starting to learn, I've got plenty to learn, so far, it seems like caving when a child is doing that just makes them do it more.

The entitlement will fester and keep them from getting ahead, and become a burden on the parents. I saw a show where kids were leaving half eaten food out and on the floor, and not doing their homework.

But then the big sister stands in his room, refusing to leave, which just made him more and more angry, and the younger sister and mom all encouraged her to get out of his room.

A reminder to know when to press and when not to with kids. I look forward to learning more

My child didn't have tantrums -- they were quite verbal at 2 and could use their words. But like all children, they could become cranky if they needed food or sleep.

A tantrum is just a child losing control and struggling to manage their emotions. So the best thing would be to support them with managing their emotions… not give them what they want.
