Is it fair to end a friendship if he prioritizes dating over me?

He’s gone from meeting up for lunch to squeezing me in for drinks during weekdays that suit him, while he goes out for dinners with random women he’s picked up online. Also, he said that he might be too busy to meet up with me on the only days I’m free for my two weeks of work placement. The message generally being that he’d rather spend all his money on taking random online women out for dinner than carve out one day for lunch or dinner with a friend who’s always been there for him.
Is it fair to end a friendship if he prioritizes dating over me?
