Classy and prep styles tend to mirror each other in some ways. Those who enjoy these styles or want to imbibe them, are ones who prefer a more conservative streamlined look with sharp tailoring, clean lines, minimalism, and use classic timeless pieces that harken back to the 40s and 50s, ones school days, the nautical culture. Classic, lady like, elegant, refined are words that come to mind when describing this style.

Not a hair out of place is the typical motto here. Things are usually anywhere from demure to severe in how they are tailored, tucked, and cut to the body. You don't tend to find a lot of flouncy materials with this styling or a lot of wild patterns or textures. Instead, those who enjoy this style like to give off an air of always looking put together, in control, worthy of your respect, and confident always. Fabrics are usually stiffer in nature like wool, taffeta, silk dupioni, pique, and brocade, but anything will do as long as it can be tailored or looks tailored and doesn't add much bulk or detract from the lines of the body.

For the preppier side of things, bring in pieces that you would find in a classic school uniform. Plaids, blazers, emblems, pleated skirts, school jackets, things belted in place, knee highs, brogues, and backpack purses. For either style, the hair is neatly coifed, and the make-up is natural. For your hair, sharp bobs, hair practically spackled in place, slicked up-down-back dos will do. Jewelry is simple and uncomplicated. One or two of anything is enough and more than that, will overwhelm the simplicity of your outfits. It goes without saying that your bag will match either your belt or your shoe, or both...probably definitely both.

So you're calling yourself an idiot? Everything we wear is sartorial in nature even if its jeans and a t-shirt. You think those things never came or come down a runway or had to be constructed or re-worked for the modern era? You can pretend you're not a part of it all you want, but if you buy clothes, shoes, or any other accessories like hats, and watches, that's fashion.

Well if it's such a part of me, why do I only buy clothes when I actually need it? Because I wear clothes for practical reasons. Shopping sprees, the fashion lifestyle, making sure you look on point is what I'm talking about. The culture behind fashion. It's superficial, materialistic and seems like a waste of time. Instant gratification from looking good? Okay why not inflate that person's ego even more? Fashion gives people a false sense of worth. It's toxic. You're talking to a guy who wears steel toed boots and hi-vis jackets everywhere.

Clothes are meant to keep you warm and cover your private parts. Anything more and you're just being a fool.

Fashion is a part of our lives, and to dismiss it all as just complete frivolity is to forget we have eyes in our heads to see what we see. A peacock has it's feathers, and mankind has it's clothes and both very much, I assure you, serve a purpose that is far from wasteful or idiotic.

Have you've never noticed a girl in a red dress and pair of heels? You've never gone to an interview or a funeral or a date or to a club in a suit or certain type of outfit to make a certain impression? And who doesn't want to look good or receive a compliment? I'm sure you've given a few to the women you find attractive in your time (and don't give me that whole, I only ever noticed their personality bit or I'll throw up in my mouth).

You may say the whole entire industry is a waste, but that waste puts a lot of food on a lot of tables and gives a lot of workers jobs whether they be bloggers, the models, or the make-up person, or the tech guys putting on a show.

If anything can generate money it's seen as "useful" in our society. It's just the way our society works and kept around to suppress the minds of citizens so we can stay in this spiral known as capitalism.

Yes I have seen women wearing red and I understand the effects on how us humans see red especially on a visually beautiful woman or even anyone. Red is in fact my favorite color on what mankind has symbolized it to be. I understand that it's important in our society and it's purpose of making a good impression but it defeats looking at someone for who they are. It can mask a person's true nature and perceive someone incorrectly.

I'm constantly judged in a way that does not reflect who I am at all. I dress for comfort and durability so I wear track pants, hoodies, steel toed boots and yes I find them comfortable. I get judged as some hoodlum. I don't care for empty compliments from strangers either. It's a false sense of confidence that stems from trying to be accepted by others.

It's not so much fashion that I dislike but the attitudes it breeds in the people of our society. Fashion isn't the only problem but all of consumerism. It's about looking the best, having the most expensive thing; one upping people. One uppers are disgusting and a majority of people are one uppers. Jealousy, pride, greed. I know there is nothing I can do about it. Venting on here won't change anything. I'll just watch people get worse and worse.
