Realistic tattoos are pretty straight forward they look like a photograph of your body, It is very important to get a tattoo artist that specializes in realistic tattoos because if they don't it's easy to end up with a bad tattoo. You are going to probably pay the most for these tattoos but it's worth it to get such a beautiful piece of art on you.

These tattoos are meant to resemble the painting style with similar splashes and streaks of colour. Water colour can be used on its own with no line work or other styles. You can use it combined with realism, or solid outlines, to form just the background or the foreground of the tattoo.Bright colours are often used in this style.

Tribal:

These are the oldest style of tattoos. They are nearly always black in colour. It uses symmetry, and geometrical designs. Sometimes it is used with very little detail with just black solid lines and other times there is very intricate detail. Typically it is best to get an original piece that way the artist can draw a piece that will fit your body perfectly.
