I'm a 44 year old who hates thongs, believes that rather suit prostitutes and wayward women than respectable and decent women, and would actually break up with a girl if I ever had one and she wore them. At 14 I remember being sickened by the very idea (but then again, thongs weren't as common now as then; women had much more class, dignity, and self respect).

Thongs are so fucking uncomfortable, feels like you have a horrible wedgie. Tried one on once and I'm never going to wear one again, I honestly don't care if people see my underwear at least I'm wearing some.
It's not promiscuous at all cause it's not made to be promiscuous. They're not made to be worn alone, you wear them under your clothes. So when your future daughter asks for one, unless you're sexually attracted to her it really shouldn't concern you
I've worn thongs since HS.
It took a little getting used to the wedgie. HH
Once I got over that, thongs are the only thing I wear, if anything.

Haha hilarious imma thong girl and when my daughter started wearing thongs I was doing laundry and my husband was helping me fold he put a lacey lime green and pink thong in my pile. I said no the lime green is mine the pink is Aimee’s (our daughter) he said no! I didn’t think anything of it and I said yes did you ever see me in a bright pink thong? I don't really care about what people think but personally I can't stand any other kind of undies. Thongs are by far the best choice. Don't ride up no line easy to wear feeling free... take your pick
Practical. I have 2 daughters 16 and 21. They both are thong wearers and I support them in that.
They are practical and make them feel good.

Thongs are just underwear, except more revealing. Nobody that I know young or old wears their underwear past their belly button. So I don't see the hype about it.
They are sexy but that doesn't make them promiscuous necessarily. A lot of girls wear them to feel sexy or hip but that doesn't make them a slut. I admit that I even used to let my thongs show out of my pants when I started wearing them. They are definitely more sexy than practical in my opinion. After all, are panty lines that big of a deal? I see them as a sort of rite of passage that some women go through. It's like a sexy little secret.
I found that thongs are really comfortable. I work outside in the heat all day. Boxers bunch up and tighty whities are not much better. People say they are like having a wedgie all they time. NOT TRUE! Best of all, the make me feel sexy. What is wrong with men wanting to feel sexy. Americans are to hung up with what is suppose to be the norm.
Practical? Most girls I know say they're uncomfortable and "dry things out". The only reason they wear them is to not go commando in yoga pants or leggings.

Practical!!! Literally I just don't want panty-lines and sometimes they're super cute and comfy. Yeah, they may make my butt look extra good sometimes too but so what? That's just a confidence boost for me.
I think it is a little of both honestly. I love wearing a thong. It is more supportive than briefs or boxer briefs and I feel sexy af when I put one on. You tell me... how do I look?
Thongs are uncomfortable to wear to school or work during the day, but they are quite sexy to wear around my husband at night because it shows my plump ass.
I can't imagine those pucker rubbing cords to be comfortable in any way.

yes they do go up your ass crack and there are multible bad implications of this. it is bad for your hygiene and can cause fistulas (men seem to be especially prone to those cause their ass is more likely hairy). i wouldn´t recommend them to anybody really.
