models are essentially paid to be sexual objects in order to sell magazines and products so I don't see why this is so inspiring.
Anyways... These girls are an acurate representat ion of an average girl anymore than the skinny models are.
All of those model look over 5'7, have good bone structure and have hourglass proportions. The "typical chubby/curvy girl" we see walking around looks nothing like this.
How come it is ok to promote pluse size female models but no sort of affirmative action is taken for male models. BRB still gotta look skinny with six pack abs.
I don't think they should get buzz because fat men don't get the same buzz. Society is pushing this plus size woman thing off to make them acceptable but they don't do the same thing with guys.
Because men are not as focused on in the fashion world or the advertising world. Instead of thinking it as a negative why not think of it as a step in the right direction that can ultimately crossover to men. Instead of be REACTIVE be PROACTIVE.
I personally think this whole "plus size" thing has gotten out of control used to be it was for bigger women but now its a labeling trend for obesity and an excuse for men and women who dont want to take control of their bad eating habits and can't admit they have a problem
I love this movement that is making the normal person the focus of sexuality. The dad bod movement, the plus sized models movement. It's finally changing the old stereotypes and finally teaching that we are all made differently, and each body is a body worth being loved for the people that inhabit them, not for the 36-DD breasts, or the 6-pack abs, or the perfect hourglass waist.
Those women are not plus sized. If you can see your feet when you stand straight up, then you're not plus-sized. But hey, whatever get's rid of anorexia.
lol love this comment. but also consider the size of the chest. If I look strait down, all I see is boobs. I'm not a small girl but at least if I push my boobs back I can see my feet. That actually made me feel good. Not everyone would agree with you and that is kind of sad.
mixed feelings about this, the positiveness being that girls suffering from anorexia and other eating disorders will have a lower chance of relapse since the trend is shifting towards larger BMI. But some of those models like Tiny Red Shoes and
Ashley Rose are obese. The fashion industry it seems like extremes. Why can`t they get it right.
Lol the plus sized models look healthy just on the bigger side, and the bloggers look overweight. This just proves that some of the people call themselves curvy when they aren't
The statement that Marilyn Monroe was a size 12 really deserves all kinds of qualifications. It's like pointing out that Abraham Lincoln was a Republican to argue that Republicans are really more concerned about African American interests than Democrats.
You can read more about Marilyn Monroe's measurements here:
Brontosauras, I see your point. But the point I was making is that Marilyn Monroe wasn't an anorexic-looking skeleton, regardless of what size they're arguing that she wore. And she did wear a D-cup bra, even if she was (as the articles say "tiny"). That's all I'm saying.
These women are beautiful, some of them shouldn't be considered plus size because they don't look that big. I'm a size 10 and they consider me plus size.
I apologize for not reading the take (I'll go back and do that later), but i stopped at the picture and thought "plus sized? ! WTF? These girls look actually NORMAL compared to anorexic Victoria's Secret models". Hope i didn't offend anyone
I think plus size refers to any woman over a size zero. Women's measurements are really strange. I have heard they can actually go into the negatives. I think that by keeping the numbers lower, it helps them feel less fat. I think however this has had the opposite effect, as even a skinny woman can be plus size if she is even a size one.
Obesity kills more people per year than terrorism, and I will never agree with the glamorization of obesity. The plus sized models weren't obese, but the some of the bloggers definitely are.
If "size doesn't matter" as you wrote, why don't you let people be themselves rather than telling that thin/tall/slim/curvy/plus-size women are better?

*are NOT an acurate representation*

Lol. Where are these chubby male models then? No every woman prefers muscular men.
yeah some of those girls i would consider completely normal size, not even overweight but just right. So YES!!! definitely like them better.
Not a fan of the obese ones, but thats just personal preference
Since people are so dumb, they probably need the media to coax them into liking other types of people. Nothing new here.
Yeap.
The media is not forcing anyone to like other body types. They don't only cater for you and your preferences.

They still aren't being pushed down the throats of society like plus size, bbw's etc are. Hell they even have nightclubs that cater to them.
@Chercheur Because double-standards make no one happy. If feminism was about equality it would care about this as well.
This made me think, I don't know that i've ever seen a plus size male model..

2 & 4 of the models shouldn't be considered plus size. None of them seem plus size actually. The bloggers are the definition of plus sized.
I agree
I feel like I said that last sentence wrong but I don't know how else to say it lol @jessiie06
The meaning of ''plus size'' is in the eye of the beholder. Everyone has a different definition of what ''plus size'' is. :)
I agree but my last sentence just seems rude. I just kept thinking it was the wrong way to say it but I couldn't find another way to :/ @jessiie06
I think its fine. :)

most of these women aren't fat at all, they're just at healthy weights for thicker body types

Damn it you stole my comment LOL
I absolutely adore the plus size models. The waif and thin looks don't do a whole lot for me.
But those big beauties are an instant turn on. Love that they are far more natural and real. No need to pump anything up. Nature has done it for them!
Marilyn Monroe wore a size 12 and she was considered one of the sexiest women alive.
Amen! Totally agree, she had a beautiful figure!
She had to have her clothes made though
so what? @Bards
Nah just saying homes
I just think it's an interesting fact

Plus size women make me oh so horny.
I'm glad they're getting their time to shine... again.
In the Renaissance, a plus size woman was preferred.

Well said. Size doesn't matter is only valid when women use it. Just look at how they judge small penises so harshly.
