I've been complimented by strangers with the word beautiful before and I never wore make up or revealing clothes... so based on that... nope not at all

Suprised to see so many no's in the poll. Anyhow, me personally, I do. I think to make up and revealing clothes highlight the already existing features that I find desirable about myself. I really like my face and body so when I dress them up it makes me feel good and like I created a work of art.

My boyfriend loves it and I feel like I'm expressing myself in a great way. I do it a lot for myself, but of course Idoit for my boyfriend and to look good to others as well. I like when people compliment me on my work regarding my face, hair, and body. it's nice, I put a lot of work in. Yeah, I know I don't need revealing clothes, makeup, and great hair to be beautiful. but it feels damn good to have it around.

In today's society? Yeah absolutely. They start to look down on those who stay natural and who cover themselves up; you'd be considered prude and odd. + Most girls would look extremely average or even unattractive without make up.
Modesty and natural was considered very attractive back in the 20th century and the era's before it. It is this fucked era which changed everything and destroys what it can destroy. It will get worse though.

I consider makeup to be a benefit, not a disadvantage. Use it lightly and it is a friend not an ememy. You don't need makeup but used lightly it can help your face standout and you are beautiful in whatever clothes you wear, but the more feminine the more beautiful it can make you appear. Kindness, maturity, morality, strength of character, open-mindedness, power of will, principles, virtues, etc. To me, these things are what make a person really shine in the sea of humanity, compared to banal, immaterial, tawdry things like make-up and clothes.

If you're wearing supper saggy sweatpants and an oversized stained shirt with no make up, while it may not be the best to go out in, guess what, you're still just as beautiful.

It's like adding filters to a photo. The photo looks great regardless, but a black-and-white filter can give the impression of simplicity and old-age or neon can make things look more colorful and bright.

It really depends on who you're trying to appeal to, and what you have to work with. For example, someone more traditional would favour makeup but object to revealing clothes. Me personally, I prefer the opposite: less makeup and less clothes.
There are different people that every combination appeals to. But in general, beauty is associated with things like health, youth, and symmetry.

Absolutely not. The make-up does help quite a bit with appearances though. Hate it or like it, other girls will use it. Compete with a disadvantage, use it too or choose a different type of competition.

I've almost never worn make up, never wore revealing clothes (unless you count dresses as such) and am considered beautiful, I even got that compliment yesterday, so it's still valid. But beauty is different to everyone, the important thing is you see yourself as beautiful, once that happens, others will too.
