I think this question is a little difficult to truly get an answer for. We can sit here with all of our western cultured upbringings and try to sit in the shoes of someone growing up where fat is desirable, but I don’t really think we can truly know. I see all these remarks about people thinking their health is important, which, it is, but I mean we don’t know the general education level of the people living in the described area either. I’m gonna go out on a limb here and say that if I was long term living in a new place, or born there, I’d probably conform at the very least loosely to the culture surrounding me. You see examples of this all the time. I think it’s unrealistic for people to think they’d somehow remain completely unchanged by this. Even if they didn’t gain weight themselves, I imagine spending enough time somewhere they’d grow to find the trait desirable.

A lot of them are considered hot by some men but that seems like a lame excuse to put on weight.
Probably not. I'm trying to lose weight, because I don't feel healthy enough right now. I wouldn't risk my health and gain weight so that people would consider me hot.
I’m more concerned about my overall health than fitting a certain body image so I wouldn’t gain or lose weight just because it’s considered attractive.
Being fat is unhealthy so nope... I never lost weight intentionally, I was always going for gaining weight since I was underweight for a while...

No. People change in beaty trends overall. I'm not going to change to go please somebody. I like as I am
I'd choose being horribly ugly and healthy over being beautiful and unhealthy any day.
OMG YES!!! Do I need to move?
