My cousin says the way you carry yourself attracts people more than the way you look. Thoughts?

She was very popular with men when she was younger and she told me that by western standards she wasn't beautiful at all but the way she presented herself and the way she talked and the way she danced and moved and spoke - was what attracted the hundreds of men who pursued her every year.

I watched the bachelorette today and I don't think the woman is that pretty. If you took away her make up, her hair, her clothes, her charm, her vulnerability, her exhibitionist behaviour, her humour and her voice - she would be either ordinary looking or borderline ugly but because she has all these things to build up her style - she is perceived as attractive.

So can you convince people you are good looking or convince people you are ugly - based on how you carry yourself and how much confidence you have in your looks?

I think that statement is universally true for guys and girls.

The way a person carries themselves says a lot about them. And can project to the world really strong vibrant traits that are often saught after by the opposite sex. It can make you seem fun and pleasurable to be around.

I see it like a good sales tactic... end of the day whether we like it or not... we are all salesman/saleswoman and we have to sell ourselves to others as the perfect catch... the way you carry yourself is an effective way of projecting and making others believe what you already believe about yourself. Making them see you.. how you want to be seen... That kind of confidence is pretty sexy.

I can’t say I agree. It’s is true in nearby every case of every girl I dated or hooked up with it was not their personality or how they carried themselves that drew me to them, it was their looks. After that though if those other factors weren’t there I’d move on.

There are a few rare instances of girls I was not initially attracted to but ended up liking after interacting with them and discovering I liked who they were as a person.

I once met a guy who told me that if I wasn't intelligent he won't be attracted to me. I was surprised. Keep in mind too that everyone has their own ideas on what is attractive...

But from the description above, your cousin sounds like she has a wonderful personality.

Definitely. There's a girl at work who yeah is attractive. But there are other more attractive girls than her and I only notice this girl cause she talks so loud and commands the room. All the other attractive girls at work seem boring and dull to me.

This is bullshit, altough good posture does make you look more attractive and so does seeming nice and approachable

As someone whos had shitty posture, resting bitchface and not being able to keep eye contact with girls whatsoever when i was younger i still attracted lots of women because i was good looking

makeup and hair are easy to change and are physical attributes they can change how a women actually looks. But I can't see to much going for men, clothing, convidence, and posture are about it, i doubt those will change your perspective of the guy being ugly.

Yes. I'm average in looks but my bubbly personality and confident straight posture helps me attract people in general

Looks do play a part in it to but how you carry yourself does matter she is right in that respect.
