I can explain why some men in general speaking looks better with beards:
- Makes them look more masculine
- Good head hair and beards signals good health
- Hides imperfections like wrinkles, a weak jawline, double chin etc.
- Makes your face appear slimmer or wider depending on what you wants to, make your face look more symmetrical and your nose straighter/slimmer
- Make baby faced men look maturer/older and some wrinkled men younger looking

This applies mostly when a man has a bigger beard, but stubble does a lot too.
