Why is it so hard to find clothes of size xs nowadays?

Every year I shop online for clothes but this year, I decided to go out with some friends and look for clothes. I spent 3 hours looking for clothes that fit me. It was so annoying. I was exhausted and disappointed by the end of those 3 hours and luckily found some bodysuits that I like. I so badly wanted a dress since I almost never wear dresses :c

Do you have the same problem finding clothes that fit you? Is it just me or do stores barely have the xs size nowadays?

Even when you find XS it don't always fit since it can be a S disguised as a XS. I bought a jeans that is said to be a XS but it fit as big as a S pants and is much too big for me (it's a high waisted one but because is too big it look like a low rise on me... I have to wear a belt with it).

It's hard to find XS because most XS size is fake XS (they truly are a S) so when a brand do a true XS everybody run to buy it.
Reasons why the disguise the size is because it flatter women to buy a size smaller than the size they're used to buy and it make them spend more.

Personally my waist is very thin so I always struggle with high waisted stuff, when it fit my hips and butt it's too big for my waist and when it fit my waist it's too tight for my hips / butt...

I'd agree, problems I have with clothing are that the tops of dresses are sometimes a bit loose or just with finding jeans in general. It's hard to find something that fits you and that you like. Recently went shopping for jeans, there was a very small selection I could choose from that'd fit me, ended up just buying two pairs that are decent I guess. With jeans, I have a problem finding ones that fit my waist, usually the waists are a bit loose but for those that fit my waist snugly, I have a hard time getting them past my hips 😅 The length is usually a bit long too.

Ohh I recently got an off shoulder top and when I tried it at home, it just didn't fit at the shoulder level. It keeps falling off. I'll probably end up giving it away 😫

I have that problem with jeans too so I get then fitted after buying them.

I've had a difficult time finding t shirts that fit well. I have broad shoulders, thick arms and chest, but the shirts are usually way too long. They usually make them long because most people with wide shoulders like mine are very fat and need the length. I used to get Mossimo shirts from Target, but they quit making them. It took 3 years to find another type that fit well. Amazon Basics actually fit me very well. And they come in a pack of 6 xl black t shorts for $25. Wohoo! I bought an extra pack just in case.

If you need extra small adult size clothes have you tried looking in the juniors/teen section instead?

I've shopped in that section for years but now that I became more busty, they don't fit me at the chest lol

Collectively, people in the US are getting larger- that's a fact of life.
Increasing amounts of store space and e-stores are devoted to sell more, so there is a sacrifice made at the expense of the smaller clothes. My 4' 10" wife has the same problem.

Look for shops that specialize in "petite" sizes.

I know only 2 stores that sell sizes that fit me 😂😂

Yes mam i do but im a big guy. Even with me in good shape i still a size waist pant of 48 and seam of 32. Then my tshirts need to be 2xlt. The "t" is important because my trunk of the body is longer than normal people and i need to make sure im not wearing a midriff. 😂 size 13 shoe completes the ensemble. Big hands big feet big body and skeleton. My doctor said if I really put on muscle my body would be similar to Dwayne Johnson's. 😂

Extra small or Triple X... both are non existent in the clothes you really want. It's always the clothes you don't want that have plenty of those sizes lol.

Yeah the smaller sizes are indeed difficult to find because most of the world is eating unhealthy over is just general sized M onwards. So the S and XS sizes are difficult to find in stores.
I'm a size L so it's fine for me but sometimes these run out of stock too.

Designer brands almost always have that size. For dresses, it is best to have them tailor fit for you.

Well I'm an XL so I usually don't have any problem finding my dress online or offline.

But I always have a problem with pants though, I feel like none of the pants fit me even if they're my size.

Maybe it's not your size if it doesn't fit you or maybe they labelled the sizes on the pants wrong 🤔

Female jeans are too wide in the waist and often too short, I need a belt. No problem with tops, suits and dresses if I don't buy them online.
