What's your opinion on gapped teeth?

My two front teeth are becoming more and more gappy over time and i dont know if i should just own it or get something done about it. I ses so many fashion models with it and they look so cool but im not model and don't want to be looking like no hillbilly, banjo, incest, redneck with my teeth.

I think it’s cute but if you dont like it just get composure bonding.

It’s relatively cheap super fast esp for what you’d be getting done very simple requiring very little material, and won’t damage your teeth.

you're not a smoker so they won’t stain if you I care for them like regular teeth.

if tye dentist tries to talk you into porcelain veneers~~ dont do it.

Yes they can last longer but they don’t necessarily.

Unlike composure they can chip and break off.

plus they have to grind down your natural teeth to apply them so you are left with Less tooth enamel and weaker teeth than you began with. If they do fall off it is more expensive to fix.

The procedure is arduous. You I have to go several times. It is invasive. They lift up your gums.. and they are way more expensive..

Composite bonding they apply in the visit. No pain. no invasive procedure. If they need to be fixed, it is cheaper. You don’t lose tooth enamel in preparation. More control over duty and length and color. They are up to 75% cheaper.

I have one, it’s small though and it’s because I have small teeth. I got told it would get moved as I got older but it didn’t.

I personally don’t like it much at all, but all my partners always said it was a very cute feature.

i always thought they looked super attractive but i will never forget the woman on holiday in india that just happened to be approached by a dentist that claimed he could sort her gap for her... she let him do it and when she woke up she found he had fitted one fake tooth in the middle... urban myth maybe but funny as fook

First off, someone thinking it looks "hillbilly, banjo, incest, redneck" is exactly why I absolutely hated my teeth growing up. When I was a kid I had a gap i could put my pinky through. I got called every name in the book, I've even heard "freeway", "field goal" and tons more. So to me, you even bringing that up, is extremely shallow and offensive. Honestly up until reading this post, I had hated my teeth and the gap in them, was self-conscious about how it made me look and had even been looking at different options to off set my "buck tooth snow bunny" teeth. Fuck that, fuck that view point and fuck being ashamed of them. It's a part of who I am and if someone is going to laugh or call anyone names because of a couple of teeth? Well, it says a lot about that person. . .

Some people can pull it off but i dont like it. Whenever i see one on tv, i usually make a remark about it, forgetting my sis and grandma have one and are in the room... feel kinda bad. But i like gaps better than braces. Haaaate knowing someone has/had braces

I believe Pattie Boyd, model and former wife of both George Harrison and Eric Clapton had a tooth gap. She is the subject of songs "Something" and "Layla" among others.
tooth gaps are considered beautiful in the Caribbean, if I'm not mistaken. you could probably get it fixed relatively easily. As long as it's not excessive, you might keep it.

I myself find overbites attractive.

My gap went away when my wisdom teeth came in. There wasn't enough room. Had the wisdom teeth removed. You could always get some invisalign braces if you don't want it anymore. I used to feel self conscious about it but I missed it a bit when it went away. You probably should have an orthodontic consult anyway if your teeth are shifting a bit.

I think its such a small issue blown out of proportion... I think people just purposely try and tear people down.. if you like it keep it if you dont get it fixed as simple as that.. what matters is what you think not everyone else

Talk to your dentist about the pros and cons of keeping them this way. Those two front teeth may impact all your surrounding teeth and setting you up for serious life long problems.

Well, it's all about how you feel. I notice you said, "I see so many fashion models with it..." which means you are comparing your look to others. When you learn to stop doing that, or to care less about it. Then it life will become more enjoyable.

Gaps by itself are ok but if it is getting bigger over time there may be something going on, so visit a dentist.
