Is it really bad to just let your hair grow for maybe 3 years?

After cutting my curls up to my neck I’ve been too scared to cut my hair again because I want it to be long again like how it was when I was 16 my hair thank God though has grown a lot compared to this December. This was December 2020:

I kinda cut some little parts of my hair earlier this year only little parts because I was scared but I haven’t gotten it professionally cut since September 2019 so almost two years now and I’m still too scared to cut it. My hair was actually shorter than the December pictures when I gave myself a neck length cut I looked like a mushroom August 2019 😂. This is how I want my hair to be again (I was 16 here):

Considering I haven't had a hair dresser touch my hair since fall 2019 as well, except for a very light trim of volume last year, I'm in no position to tell you it's good or bad.

If you're going for super long hair you kind have yo let it grow there's no going around that.
But how much dead hair do you usually deal with? If the amount is big then maybe the hair needs a professional to go through it (not necessarily cut it short, you can tell him/ber that you're growing it out but wanna cut the excessive hairs and let it frow faster

I don’t really see any dead hair because I don’t use much heat at all and I deep condition all the time

I also kind of have this extreme hair diet for years lol 😂 in which I avoid sulfates and silicones in hair products

I wash my hair with only water. Have been for a year now.

It has never been stronger or smelled nicer. Trust me all products are bad for you one way or the other

I kind of have to use that curly hair stuff it’s different if I don’t use gel my hair would puff up and if I didn’t deep condition

I wish curly hair grew faster when I straighten it though it’s very long but curly it shrinks 😂. How long is your hair now?

It’s not that it grows slower it’s that length accumulates slower due to the curls. Mine is wavy and down to my mid-back. :)

I love long hair, and you have the most gorgeous hair. Grow it until it reaches your ass. Then trim it once a year.

There's no difference visually. Just remember to use the right products for growth and conditioning of curly hair -- stay away from chemicals. Natural stuff is best.
