There is no reason for them in a learning environment. But there is also no reason not to allow them. Well, except I suppose the distraction for the male half of the students. If there was an equivalent distraction for women availible perhaps it would be fair to the grading curve, but if anyone ever found something that got most women to start thinking of sex to the point that they couldn't think about their lessons, it'd sell like hotcakes.
But that's not even really a good reason. If all of high school was in the nude people would just get used to it after a couple of weeks. I'd equate it to stilts. Is there a reason anyone shouldn't be allowed to walk around high school on 4 foot stilts? Not really. It just makes things harder on everyone else for the benefit of no one at all.
I suppose there is a subtle reason, as well. Yoinger girls haven't yet learned what their generation will think of anyone perceived as a slut. So, wearing a miniskirt because it feels exhilarating might not alert you to all the girls who see it deciding you're definitely a whore until after the damage is done. Just banning it for everyone would avoid that drama altogether. Though, of course, other drama will just fill the void anyway..

I think the skirts that are longer then their finger tips are ok as long as they’re wearing shorts underneath is fair I mean what is your main reason for wanting to wear mini skirts that makes this issue that important for you? Do you think it would be distracting to other students not that what you wear means go or no go for weirdos but it is a fact that there are weirdos out there that do see it that way also there are girls that do dress certain ways to attract certain types of attention is it worth the trouble? Isn’t school for learning and not for a fashion show? Maybe if your high school was separated like ninth and tenth grade at one school then eleventh and twelfth grade at a different school then let the eleventh and twelfth graders choose whatever their standards should be so they get a chance to learn these things on their own so they can make their own informed choices from personal experience’s and hopefully the boys at that age will be a little more mature and know how to act. When one of my daughters was in the ninth grade some boys were harassing the girls in her class including the teacher and when they put their hands on my daughter she went to the principal and nothing was done so she told me and I went and scared the crap out of those boys and the school and superintendent and it actually changed those boys life’s but no other parent did anything and the principal wanted to ignore it and hope it would go away these boys all confessed and were in tears within 2 minutes they were threatening to even go to some of these girls homes and raping them. It’s a sad fact but it’s a fact
Yes. Boys can learn to focus and concentrate on their studies. Visible skin does NOT equate to male accessibility. The earlier they learn this, the more likely they are to understand that most women (not just 'the rare ones') are autonomous and are capable of being desirable AND intelligent.
The problem with dress codes is that it punishes the person wearing clothing, not the people making inappropriate comments, cyberbulling, or straight up engaging in sexual harassment. Anytime you restrict the standard, we sexualize what is outside that standard, now this can be wrists/ankles, hair, or extra ass.
If you can't control yourself in a classroom, then how are you going to control yourself in a board room, or a nightclub, or on vacation.
My school uniform consisted of a skirt that was pleated at the bottom but it came down to about shin legnth, most girls rolled the top of the skirt, I ended up altering mine so I could actually use the pocket. It was very unflattering on a lot of students.
I don't have many pictures showing the legnth I and most people wore it, the above picture is a friend and I for a general idea. People wore it shorter which looked honestly stupid because it would go uneven. I think a bit above the knee is perfectly fine. We didn't have any issues.

I don't think it's necessary to wear them. Too short, too revealing. What's the point? Girls already wear super tight clothes or somewhat revealing clothes already, why do they need this too? Once you are done with high school, you can wear whatever you want. It's a waste to get worked up fighting the school for a extra small skirt when you should be focusing on getting your shit together. Graduating, getting good grades, knowing what you want to major in, getting good act or sat scores. About Guys wearing it, they can wear it once they graduate too. Even when you graduate, you'll still get people giving you shit. Slut shaming and guys will be accused for being gay or a cross dresser for wearing it. So even though you are fighting the school, you will still come across a lot of other people outside of school that'll give you a hard time too. You got to learn to pick and choose your fights. Hope I gave you some perspective. Good luck
Judging how sexualized that school uniform has become, I say yes. Purely for safety reasons and ethics. This until society has "matured" a bit more. Which I honestly doubt will happen. A school uniform isn't something to be sexualized. Especially if they are worn by minors.
"By the way boys are also should be allowed to wear miniskirts."
- I can bet that these same boys are not boys who will catch your interest in terms of attraction, yet you're advocating for this. No, boys shouldn't wear skirts because they aren't girls. When you grow older, and actually do some research in history, biology, psychology and even politics, you would realize that feminizing boys and masculating girls lead to disaster in people and even in society. Why a school girl need to be dressed in mini skirts as uniform? Is there a valid reason for it? What is the reason? To look sexy, prettier? I mean that is what it is called Uniforms, not party clothes. Mini skirts should be left for social activities if the girl wants to of course, but not in the place when you are getting your education. Are you going to school to draw attention from people or you are going to study? Im not saying you have to wear clothes like a nun of course not, but I dont see a valid excuse to wear a mini skirt in school or in high school. And why a male should wear a mini skirt? I mean he is a boy not a girl and the students are in high school not in college where you can wear whatever you want.
No. School is about learning, not giving a fashion show. Kids need to worry less about what they wear and more about learning what they need to learn. Even having a debate about dress codes is a distraction from learning. Part of that learning is that students need to learn to obey the rules instead of fighting them. There are times in the workplace you will not agree with the rules but that does not mean you get to debate the rules. Either follow the rules or leave the workplace. When it comes to schools, students need to realize they do not have very many rights until they turn 18 so until they turn 18 just suck it up buttercup because every generation before you had the same rules to follow. The U. S. Supreme Court has ruled on student rights and lack of in the past. Schools should just issue uniforms. That would end all debate and issues.
When I was at (quite a posh) school, the uniform for girls included either a skirt or trousers, and the rule was that skirts had to reach the fingertips. I think that's still pretty standard now, so the one pictured would be a couple of inches too short. Of course, all the girls used to roll up the waistband to make them shorter...
That seemed like a decent balance to me - allowing the girls some freedom to dress the way they want, while not giving the impression that the school was educating girls in the noble arts of stripping / lap-dancing.I generally don't care either way so long as the rule is IDENTICAL between genders.
Like, in every school I grew up in, guys' dress codes were more restrictive than girls'.
For girls, skirts or shorts had to reach the tips of your fingers with your arms stretched. For guys, shorts had to cover the knees while sitting.
For girls, sleeveless shirts had to not show the belly and straps had to be one finger wide. For guys, sleeveless shirts were off-limits except for gym.
Girls were going to the office for breaking these rules much more often than guys. Not because the rules were biased against girls, but because girls had options and chose to wear clothing that broke these rules.
SO all that being said, I do personally think the miniskirt restriction makes some sense if you have open desks like most schools do.No, it shouldn't be allowed. You're in a learning environment. The mini skirt is simply inappropriate and ultimately unpractical. You may think that girl in the photo wearing the mini skirt looks cute, but actually start living in a country like Korea and Japan, and they are ALWAYS cold. Not to mention, it's an entire fetish. Do you wanna see the figurines they sell in Japan? Underaged anime girls with mini skirts showing off their underwear. Or the most popular porn in Asia? Underaged girls in school uniforms like that one.
Sure, men should learn how to be respectful and control themselves, but we live in a society, and at the end of the day, we ultimately live with very sick people, and simply learning to be respectful doesn't cure pedophilia.
If you are so dead passionate about wearing one though, I would do it on your own time, and of course, with the bare minimum of shorts underneath. It's a school, not a strip club where guys get to see hot legs of every living thing that's female.
Go naked on streets but school is a place for children to learn. Are your legs burning from heat that you need to wear mini skirts? Then don't wear anything. Problem solved.
Already this porn and hookup culture is pain in the ass at least spare educational institutions and underage people from this.Nope.
Miniskirts and short shorts (and anything else not reaching the second knuckle) were banned for everyone in my high school and I don't see any reason why they shouldn't be. Looking cute or sexually attractive shouldn't be anywhere close to the top of your priorities at that age.I can see both sides of this debate. Many women on her all saying well miniskirts are just “cute” and not suggestive.
However I know how boys think and I firmly recall what was going through my head as a teenager. What looks “cute” is not as innocent as you think. I had one ex girlfriend who was in her early 20s surprise me one time dressed up in a miniskirt school girl uniform. I won’t go into details on how I reacted to it (OP is a minor) but let’s just say she didn’t lack any attention from me that day.
If it was an all girls school that’s one thing. But in a coed environment it’s another. Also just seriously ask guys what does and does not turn them on without judging them. Get the truth and you might see why this isn’t a good idea.I don’t see a problem with miniskirts in high school. I wore them when I was in high school. Part of our cheer uniforms were miniskirts, so I don’t see a reason why we and all the other girls shouldn’t be allowed to wear them to class.
But I went to school they were allowed and lots of girls worm but it is a whole different type of generation we respected each other and we didn't play the game since the boys play nowadays are we weren't as rude as they are nowadays I don't think they should be allowed now just because of all the reasons of above
I'd say no. Because with it, you should expect to be stared at by all the boys. It's like waving food in front of a dog and then eating it and walking away. You wouldn't do that to your dog because it's considered rude and your parents would rightfully scold you. I consider it the same thing here. Just don't do it
They've been a traditional part of dress codes for schools for generations. Why is it a problem now? I DO have some hunch. I think some may have chosen to "let it all air out" and this caused a change. But I think you could just hand out 1-2 detentions and if it persists then expel such people and not ruin it for everyone else.
Do you understand why they are not allowed... because often young girls don't understand.
Once you understand, you can consider the impact upon other people and whether it is a good idea. Otherwise, it is being selfish.
If we had a society of very well trained people who were considerate of others, we wouldn't need the rules and it would be ok, within limits. No what would it change. School isn´t not a show room for your body. There will never be a time where boys won´t lose their head over girls the moment girls show more skin than usual.
(Besides that I doubt you wanna see that time because that moment will be the moment boys will lose their interest in girls alltogether)
I don´t see a benefit in that treatment. The crazy thing is that just from only seeing the legs in the cover photo on the GaG front page, I knew right away that it was an Asian girl lol.
But should miniskirts be allowed in highschool? I might be inclined to say no, because it is a little too sexy, but not entirely sure.Miniskirts should be allowed, but it's reasonable to have limits defined in a dress code. For example, the hemline cannot be more than X inches or centimeters above the knee.
When my kids were in high school, the dress code had limits for girls' miniskirts, shorts and tops, as well as for boys' shorts and shirts. That's totally reasonable and almost all the parents supported the dress code.I think 14 year old girls
Should focus on their studies
Not on their clothes
Now, if someone tells you that as a girl
You are not allowed by balance a chemical equation
Or calculate the area of a circle
Then I would definitely be upsetMini skirt ain't sexual in my opinion. It can look very cute. Wear safety pants. As long as girls wear safety pants it is ok. I also dont understand why dress codes are mostly focused on girls. Men's beard, adam apple, abs etc secondary sexual traits but i dont understand why guys are allowed to show their their secondary sexual traits and how slutty is that? When i was at Highschool i remember how guys wear tank tops to show off their abs. It was so cringe
