The most commonly chosen pants by women are those that are basically form fitting around the waist and hips. They may be loose further down, but tight around the waist and hips. Anything in pockets there would ruin the fit.
From what I've heard from others, it's this whole thing so they have less pocket space and are forced to buy bags to keep stuff. More money to fashion industry.
Years and years ago a former worker at McDonalds told me, they did not have pockets, so they could not steal from the till. Maybe it’s related to that? 🤔😁
@Angie221994 They don't get in the way of the aesthetics for most men. Particularly as we often wear a blazer--particularly in business or formal settings.
Thats still not why they don’t put pockets in women’s jeans. They don’t put them so that way women will buy handbags. It’s to get us to spend more money
Lol. The majority of women’s brands sell everything from pants to hand backs. So. Incorrect. You also do realize that parent companies exist also right? So even tho they’re not under the same name, the money is still going to the same person.
because most women wear pants that are very tight or fit... stuffing objects in such pockets would look very lumpy, that if you can even get them in... lol
many women even wear strings so the panty lines do not show, so I guess is more of the same... looks over practicality or comfort
I suspect it's for two reasons. First, women tend o carry a purse. And second, women tend to place a greater emphasis on appearance than functionality relative to men, and there is definitely a tradeoff there.
I once heard that it was to promote the sale of purses, but that seems odd to me. I'm more inclined to think it's because pockets sort of break up the aesthetic flow of the outfit.
Never understood that my self, just weird if you ask me.. On that same token only women care about panty lines, and pocket lines are just as pronounced.

IKR!
Its stupid and it’s sucks! Hence why I purchase camo pants
Good idea. I have a few pairs of cargo pants that I wear a lot. They have a big pocket on each thigh and I love them. 🥰
Literally! <3
those are cool
I do not know for sure but I imagine women would think it makes them look lumpy with a bunch of stuff in their pockets.
Could be…
I mean they have pocket books do they not? They just store everything in their. Why would you need them?
Pocket books can’t be used everywhere, such as while working. Also, they can be annoying to carry around.
Oh ok, well than i guess because its just not what's selling as much as mens pants are
To sell purses.
Women's clothes are often in the minds of purchases, sales, and men's attraction instead of the comfort of women.
Oh yeah, to add, if there ever sits someone with influence in women's clothes; Please give us pockets! Also in skirts and dresses!
I find most dont, though have a couple of pairs that do
Right, I have 4 pairs that have pockets. I pretty much wear them all the time. It gets tiring wearing the same things every day though!
Yes I am the same, tend to find I more often than not end up wearing the same ones

I don't know but sounds like robbery to me I couldn't imagine not having pockets XD

They get in the way of the cut of the garment that is meant to optimize for aesthetics.
No. It’s to make money off women by having them by handbags. If it was for aesthetics, then why do men have pockets?

@Angie221994 It's frequently the case that the people that sell handbags (say Kate Spade) don't sell pants.

you mean the ones that are tight AF? that you could not even get your hands into? lol
All of them…just in general.

Yeah that's something to think about, my cousin gets ladies jeans and they have pockets, she gets hers at Walmart but she keeps getting the wrong fit

Designers must think cause they have purses, I don't know. I don't wear womens pants and I've never paid attention to them.
I'm not sure. I don't carry a handbag around with me

I don't know, maybe because most of you carry a purse or handbag and having stuff in your pockets would ruin the look of the pants 🤷🏻♂️
Don’t they?
All mine do.
I want them in pants and dresses!
I imagine cos there mostly for looks. I asked once why womans panties have that linner in the crotch area. Was told for hygiene.
