Because they are sexy as hell. Plus I like the taste of metal. Plus it's a safe bet their personality's will be closer to mine just by that choice to get one.
Because it's one of those things that usually separates two types of people. One I find cool the other boring. Not always but often enough.

It seems like a lot of girly girls or girls just into beauty and fashion get them and there can be some cuteness to the piercing. There’s a correlation with girls who like giving head and so they decide to add a tongue ring to accentuate the act. Of course there’s girls who get it bc they’re into piercings and the look of it. I would say tongue piercings were big amongst the female youth and was def more common in American culture 10 years ago
