Depends on your body type and face to be honest. I have seen women who were beautiful, and whenever they wore dark red lipstick, they looked just like prostitutes.
So you need to be careful regarding what shade you wear and how do you want to be perceived.

When I was a teenager, a family member told me I looked like a prostitute when i wore red lipstick.
Ever since then, I've refrained from wearing it! I do think it suits me better though but I wouldn't feel comfortable wearing it on a casual basis as red lipstick is more of a statement colour.
I get days where i wear red because i feel sexy. When i want to blend in i wear a peach colour. Nude looks very strange on my pale skin colour. Peach gives ne a bit of life.
Can't tell without seeing the entire face. One thing I can say is that I think glossy lipstick, rather than matte, looks prettier as a general rule - not always, but usually, to me.
