Fellow alt-people, do you still get weird looks and comments regarding your style choices in 2023?

I've been wondering about this lately since the world got a lot more accepting of tattoos, piercings and dyed hair, so I think it's getting slowly but surely more normalized - even for people who don't belong to a subculture.

But I feel like the older you get, the more peeved some still are, like it's an age thing? People always think I'm in my early 20ies and only start to take an issue when they hear about my age. For me it's nothing I will likely grow out of, although I am personally more subtle about it than others. The only thing that's a very obvious give-away are my piercings and my hair.

depends what area im in, working in healthcare though im in scrubs my style still shows through the uniform, a lot of people are more curious then anything

Pffft, yeah, all the time. Kilts, dress clothes, custom jewlery i made, looking like I'm going to a pirate festival or renaissance fair.

Tbh that sounds pretty awesome to me. I hope they're not too harsh, sometimes that can get super annoying.

Naw, they just look at me weird for dressing in a way that stands out, or they ask me "why the outfit?"
