Why do people on this site hate tatoos so much?

Being on this site awhile eventually you'll see a lot of people who just outright hate tattoos and some even go as far as to hate the people who get them too.

Why all the hate for tattoos?

I have one tattoo on my right upper arm and thinking of getting another one on my left one someday. i definitely am not a tattoo hater.

because Tattoo people are attention seekers

Tattoos just look tacky/not good most of the time

It makes them look like thugs or gang members

Especially if its a facial tattoo it's like saying "It's cool, I don't ever need a job."

I hate tattoos for a different reason (say yours)

Strangely enough i see more hate toward women with tattooed bodies than men... wonder whats up with that? (i think i know already sadly lol)

I never knew you have one! Well, if you notice, the hate is mostly directed to us, women. I know a few who hate them on both genders but I would say around 80% focus on women more. It is a form of control. Society seems to program us into hating/liking on certain things and whatever that is seen as wrong to them is considered bad.

From what I seen on that post, mainly women with tattoos:

"A woman pretty much vandalizes her body."

"Getting tattoos is stupid, there's no meaning behind them."

"Tattoos are trashy."

"God says we shouldn't ruin our bodies."

"It's unladylike to get tattoos."

I honestly couldn't give a fuck.

1) Our body, our choice.

2) I don't believe in God.

3) Tattoos CAN have meaning. I'd love a strawberry one in memory of my Mom. I need to do a lot of research on who to go to and what style I want, as it will be permanent.

4) Unladylike? Yeah, I've always never been fucking "ladylike".

5) I don't know why they care, at the end of the day they could give two shits we do in our own home or in public.

I don't per se "hate" tattoo on either sex. That being said, I hate facial tattoos. I think that they take away from the natural beauty of the person, and yes, I do believe that it makes it harder for you to be taken seriously and to get a good professional job. Not always, but most of the time.

And I will say that I really really don't like full-body tattoos. I don't find them attractive. It is too much. And again I think it takes away from the natural beauty of the person.

Okay, now to what I don't hate about tattoos... I think that a few strategically placed, well-done tattoos can look incredibly sexy on a man or a woman. A tattoo or tattoos can cover up scars that you would like to hide. A tattoo can be a tribute to a child, a wife, husband, partner, mother, father, or some other significant person in your life that you want to honor. It can also be a way to remember a loved person or pet that has been lost to you. All of these are wonderful reasons for a tattoo. I just believe that tattoos should be used to enhance your beauty, not cover up your beauty!

I don't hate tattoos on other people, I just think they're stupid, like painting graffiti on your new car, so I would never get one.

They show the world you make rash decisions with little care about the future consequences. You have no idea who you'll be or what your values will be in 10 years, let's burden that future you with Harry Potter and a Chinese character that says "Gonorrhea" that we were told said "Hope"

Tattoos show people how different you are by being just like everyone else being different.

For me, when a man has a tattoo, but not something weird like naked woman, roses etc, I like it, they actually look hot, I don’t know if they would look hot anymore tho when they will get older 😂
On the other hand, woman is very feminine, you wear nice dress sometimes and there is some flower on your arm or your leg… so I don’t like this huge tattoos on women, maybe something small. At the end of the day is their body not mine so I don’t care
But would you put some stickers on your Ferrari in general? Probably not, the car is fancy, and hot without any addition to it 😜same with woman body

Lots of people are just sour pusses on here. If you’re doing something to your own body and it’s something that makes you happy, especially if you’re a woman, then there will always be someone on GaG that says it’s wrong.

For sure. Sadly, the anonymity of the internet allows people to say and do things they'd never get away with in public, because there are little to no repercussions for their actions. The internet enables and even rewards those behaviours, so it's a just a cesspool for people who chose to be that way. But this place has a higher concentration of those people than most sites it seems. lol

I don't have any tattoos myself, but I'm certainly not a tattoo hater. I also don't think people who get tattoos are "attention whores" either. To me, it's just a form of personal expression and oftentimes they can even be very personally meaningful for the people who have them. I think tattoos can look beautiful or even exotic, although, I am not into facial tattoos.

Ultimately, I gauge people on the quality and content of their character, and how they carry themselves. Because that's all that matters. If you talk to people with tattoos, more often than not they are no different than anyone else you'll meet. But you'll never get to know that about them if you judge them right away and never talk to them because of pre-conceived notions you may have about them. I will say this though, it seems like non-tattooed people are the ones pitching a b*tch about it more than tattooed people pitch a b*tch about other things. lol
