Its because of the subjective nature of beauty. There are some universal standards yes, but things such as thinner/thicker, hair styles, etc are all subjective.
I mean, most often I hear about how people want somebody in shape, with good skin, and nice teeth. From there, some may like certain eye colors, certain hairstyle, etc
I guess once you get to average looking then some will think they are good looking and some will think they are ugly unless they are really above average then it’s pretty obvious
What would people who some think are good looking, a lot think are average, and a few think are ugly be classified as? What's the difference between average, and above? I would just think more people, are less likely to find you ugly, if you're above average.
@Extraterrestrial1999 less likely but I’ve heard comments from guys thinking even Megan Fox is ugly so it’s definitely subjective, some people just see things others don’t, I definitely think that girl in the picture is very pretty
both there are some traits that make something beautiful and then there are some traits that will appeal more to some than others. we are all different and therefore like different things both from our genetics and also the life we have lived
There is a societal standards for beauty but that doesn't mean it is everyone's type. Sometimes someone who meets the societal beauty standards just makes them cliche and boring to some people.
I don't think beauty is in the eye of the beholder i have seen a lot of videos where different people explain what beauty is by measuring their distance in the face , the nose, lips, forehead, maxilla, jawline angle etc etc everything is explained.

Because the majority of the world doesn't agree. A lot of people think Kim Kardashian is hot, but she really isn't.
Jennifer Lawrence isn't that hot, either. She just has nice tits and a great personality.
There is a lot of biological, cultural, and some personal preference to what people regard as beautiful.

personally excepth the girl in the top pic, all of them would be considered very average if they didn't have blue eyes.
Because beauty is temporary. Whatever you find attractive now you may not find attractive next year.

I think there are some common opinions on beauty. However there is almost always someone that likes something different then what is common.

Why don't you post a picture of yourself and let us see you. I'm sure you're pretty.
I am but why do you want to see me
Because you seem to think you're not pretty and I bet you are.
Usually it's ugly people saying that to make themselves feel better or woke people virtue signaling.
2+2=4 is objective. "That girl is pretty" is subjective because it is based on opinion.
Good question
I think it means even though there is objective beauty... Another person sees beauty where we might not
Makes sense to me at least
They say that to ugly people like me to give us hope that someone somewhere one day could find you worthy of being loved
Not to hurt feelings.
Very few people or maybe drunk people will think Whoopi Goldberg physically looks good.
I see many types of beautiful women. There are women that I think are, that others think are not
It is subjective but there are also patterns of what and who people find attractive.
She has a huge nose. Not everyone is going to agree on what is attractive. A lot of women find Bad Bunny attractive. I thinks he's ugly AF.
