What's The Issue With "Gym Thots"?

Question

I've heard people complain about how some women dress at the gym. Yesterday, people talked about this woman at the gym because her shorts were too tight.

I don't have any issues with it. It's not like they are showing "skin." Why are people objecting?

Not going to lie, I wear stuff like that to the gym. I have a nice ass, small waist, pretty much the same build as this girl. Yeah, I want to show off this body, I worked hard for it. But no, I’m not a gym thot. Almost all women dress in tight clothes at the gym unless they aren’t comfortable with their body fully. The ones who say “well I don’t wear tight clothes to the gym” are either just starting out their fitness, having a bloat day, or just want to dress like the guys.

Men think that these women think men who stare at them are creeps, when in general, for a real gym thot, all attention is good attention. They want EVERYONE to look at them, especially the hot guys. I know this girl specifically though, Skye Sutton, she’s just a typical social media influencer type. She makes money off her body and shaking her ass. That’s just what she does. But for the rest of us, why would we hide this bomb ass body?

You can almost always differentiate the gym thots from the regular girlies, though. Gym thots do bother me, because they’re the ones who spend more time talking than working out, body may or may not be real, wear full face of makeup to the gym, and always looking around to see who’s looking at them. Yes, they’re annoying.

You don’t see an issue w it cause you’re a girl. Now if you were a man you’d probably think differently as far as how men see that. A majority of men are going to look. Doesn’t matter how old they are. Telling men to control theirselves is like men telling women to stop think w their emotions. This is something you will never understand as a girl just as men will never understand what it’s like to give birth or have a period. I have no right to tell you how to feel or think when you’re giving birth or having a period. So don’t do the same to men, you don’t have a dick. That exactly right there is what men look at. Men are only creeps if they’re not attractive. That’s why you have so many women asking questions on here asking why is t this man approaching her at the gym? Why isn’t he looking at her? Etc.

One of the unspoken rules of a gym is no flirting or asking people out while they exercise.

It is acceptable to approach when you are both finished or leaving the gym. Not during workout.

The "gym thoth" idea however is to try and show off your (visual) dating appeal in a place that has historically been a free zone.
You go to the gym. Focus on you. No one bothers you and everyone accepts that they are at different levels but with similar goals.

Trying to grab attention and making people break those unwritten rules is, while not illegal, simply rude.

Plus on a personal level all the recording bothers me. I don't want to be someone's background actor in their latest tiktok.

I did ballet for 8 years and now do weight lifting. It is helpful (and necessary at times) to see exactly what I am working on so that I don't injure myself and can learn new exercises correctly. That's why racerback tanks, leotards or crop tops are handy. That being said, I wouldn't personally feel comfortable wearing what she is wearing while working out because I don't like things riding up and would be constantly adjusting my clothes. But that's my preference.

I think what is of more concern to me is this: There can be an attitude when a woman dresses in a way that is unusually appealing (and has the looks to pull it off) that a man is entitled to have her. It bugs me when girls and women are raped and the first question people ask is "What was she wearing?" As if it's her fault. It really doesn't matter what an attractive woman wears, guys are going to react to the level of their self-control and according to what has been sexualized for them culturally. For some, it's long hair being uncovered, for others, it's bikinis. I think that may be one of the perspectives missing in this conversation. Just my two cents...

See, some people (dudes) don't join gym for workout. They join gym coz they are influenced from social media. so they will complain too lol not a big deal. Otherwise they will focus on themselves not someone else.
If that girl isn't feeling comfortable, then she shouldn't wear that dress, but if she is comfortable and confident then she doesn't give a fk about people's opinion. Take a chill pill , and don't care about stupid rats opinions. They are everywhere.

I can understand people complaining if the girl is in like a bikini or something, but this looks normal to me. And girls wear this attire to girls-only gyms as well. If you have a nice body or nice aspects of it, you want to accentuate it, obviously. If I feel like I look good, then I have more confidence working out.

Most men aren't going to have any problem with how you dress, so long as your appearance wouldn't get you arrested on the street. The biggest objection is "creeps are staring at me", and all the videos on YouTube of some bitch dressed in skin tight gear, talking about men even just glancing in their general direction. Joey Swoll has a collection of these, and some have been ejected from their gym.

If this isn't you, cool. Dress how you want, share nicely with others; a public gym isn't your personal film studio. That's the real problem.

Bottom line: Most people don’t want to see your exposed body. The same could be said to muscular guys who don’t cover up.

Stop enabling this bad behavior. I hope gyms crack down on this trash and start revoking people’s membership. This will allow a “influencer “ gym to come about with dim lighting, and mirrors everywhere. I doubt it will last because, attention seeking degenerates need to feed off normal people

I have nothing against them. What I will say is the truth, if a guy they find hot or attractive ends up looking at them? They LOVE it.

If it’s a guy they aren’t attracted to, they are repulsed and call him a creep. Different men, doing the same reaction, but get a different response… lol

They aren't complaining so much about their attire so much as their actions and attitudes at the gym. A lot of them do stupid and annoying things there like filming random dudes as they accuse them of doing things. Or they will dress like that and accuse men of being creepy for staring at them while filming so they can get a viral video.

how can anyone really know what guys think when looking at her? I see this girl and think that she did not get those legs from just walking around the gym. She put a lot of work into getting that way. I am also thinking that if my legs were that toned I would be very happy about it.

I've been going to the gym for over 2 years now and u can clearly distinguish between girls who are dressing to seek attention vs those who are serious about their workout.

I've seen girls wearing the kind of clothes in the pic and just roaming about the gym for an hour doing nothing vs those like me who go in to workout then get out.

Girls like in this picture are dressing in tight legging shorts or leggings where their rear is out for the whole gym. The top is practically lingerie and should not be worn to the gym. If women want to see their hard work they can go strip in the women's room. Women can wear sweats and a t shirt, baggy if necessary. Dressing provocatively is not for the gym.
