If a girl compliments you a lot is that a sign of flirtation?

I have a big crush on this girl at my church and am good friends with her brother. I'm just starting to get involved in this church. I had heard that they played volleyball after church and was asking people about it, she over heard and said I should go! So obviously I did.

I worked up the courage to have a conversation with her before we started and we had fun getting to know each other. She was really good at volleyball and I noticed she complimented me alot, me more particularly than anyone else.

She could just be, being really nice to me because I'm new to the group and kinda shy. She's naturally charismatic, outgoing, and optimistic. But I have my hopes! We'll see how future encounter go!

tho she sounds like me at church, as I try to make newbies feel welcome, and I don't nessesarily like them straight away, because they're new and I base a lot on trust, aswell as how strong their relationship with god is, then also his personality is big one!!!

Yeah she could just be being nice, I know, but I have hope. I've actually known her as an acquaintence for a while, but I went off to college. We have several really close mutual friends, and we relatively know each other, but I certainly would like to her more personally before anything else!

actually that sounds even more hopefull, but you're also thinking about it in the right way which Is good :) I think you should hang out with her more outside of church, If you go over to her bro's then see her and stop by for 5 mins or more chatting, grin/smile all that stuff but don't leave your mate hanging :)

I've never been to their house other than to pick her brother up to hang out, but yes I will certainly do what you said in other occasions that I see her!

She could be into you but if you ask me personally then compliments don't always mean flirting. At least not for me. Just because I say you are cute or that you are smart or funny etc doesn't mean I am trying to flirt. It means I genuinely think those things about you and I admire them. That's all.
But then that's just me. If you like her, you can always reciprocate and see how things go.

She could be, also people in churches tend to be more open and friendly towards others in the church than is normal, because they know without ever having a conversation that you all have a fundamental thing in common. But why not pursue it?

Not necessarily. Sometimes a compliment is just a compliment without any ulterior motives. But she sees you in a good light for sure and if she does a lot, ya I'd say she's into you

Not necessarily, but if she's continuously complimenting you and it's more than she does others (as you've said) she's probably into you.
