There is a girl I've known for about 6 months that I see around my crossfit gym. We always flirt and have a lot of chemistry, I plan on asking her out next time.

Anyways, just wondering something i've observed. When I show up she'll seem to hover around me (within a few feet) pretending not to notice me or say hi. If I approach her, she becomes flirty again with playful touching, jokes, etc.

Wondering if girls will hover around a guy they like pretending not to notice, but wanting me to initiate?

Lol yes, I've done that. I liked this guy once and we were always in the dining hall at my college at the same time so I used to go out of my way to walk past his table or sit where he could see me. But it never became anything haha. It's a stupid tactic. Should've just approached him but I'm shy.

Yes they do! Not all women are aggressive and confident enough to just walk over and say hi. If you feel the chemistry I would keep talking to her! ☺️
