There's always a chance that he might be busy and just haven't been on FB yet. Not everyone is attached to their FB's and go on daily. When things get hectic FB is not priority for everyone. Other than that he might just simply feel weird about the friend request and is unsure of what to do or there's some chance that he might also be doing it to play some kind of game to remain "mysterious" and "cool".
From personal experience, I had the same issue with my crush.
He didn't accept me even though I sent him a friend request twice. (bad decision)
The reason why he did that is because a "friend" of mine told him that I liked him and his feelings weren't mutual.
So consider this. I know it's the worst thing that O would say but it's possible
I've been in this situation before haha. I was convinced he was playing "games" and playing hard to get, but genuinely it's very likely he just hasn't seen it. Don't worry about it honestly, and if he doesn't accept at all, it's his loss :)
Some people are just not that regular on Facebook. Sometimes I am in a hurry and open the notification just to close it again and then only after like a month I check my friend requests and then respond. I don't accept anyone immediately.
Not necessarily. Guys especially aren't generally as into fb as girls. Some people also never notice or check their friend requests. Very possible he hasn't been online or seen it yet. When I was on fb I'd only go on at home and at my home computer (no app). There'd be days where I wouldn't go on at all.
It's only a couple of days. Not everyone visits facebook everyday. People can go for days or weeks without it. Sometimes they get nervous too and procrastinate.

Perhaps he is nervous, or legitimately has not looked at his facebook. I wouldn`t over think things. There are people like that. :)
