Basically there's this girl I've known a long time. after losing contact a while we recently started spending time together again and naturally I find myself head over heels.
I've been getting some signals here and there but its so hard to tell whether they mean anything or not.
The other day I paid her a compliment about her resilient nature that I have observed over the years. She responded by saying I've always been a good friend. It didn't quite seem natural which makes me think she was trying to put an end to the crush she mightve noticed but at the same time she very well could have just been genuine.
I'm curious, in this circumstance do you think the phrasing of friend could mean all hope is lost? Or is it common for women to say this sort of thing? (Feels like a deal breaker to me)
