Mixed signals from friends with benefits or just wishful thinking?

Ive been having this friends with benefits for about two months and he is sending me mixed signals.Ive never had a friends with benefits before so I don't know what's normal.Except for the first time, we always cuddle after sex. And when I go over we always just hang out, chat, watch tv. We hang out and watch sports too and not always have sex. This confuses me because my image of friends with benefits just included sex. No extra stuff. He seems to care for me because the 2x we went out with a bunch of friends he told me to sleep at his friends because he didn't trust me driving that late and I had been drinking.He subtly invited me to one of his games and in a message one night I told him goodnight and he sends me 'i love you gal <3 !' I'm confused. And he is always picking on my celebrity crushes. Is all this normal or is it mixed signals. p.s. he's a Gemini if it means anything.

This is fwb. Don't read into every tiny thing or you're gonna get hurt. Everything you just described is what friends do. Friends with benefits isn't always solely hooking up. Everyone is different with their "arrangement," but some hang out off and on, and some just hook up. The whole concept is just having the benefits of a relationship without any commitment.

Read it as normal. I don't see any mixed signals. I just see him as being a friend. I think you're hoping for more, which is why you're reading into all the little details. Girls are notorious for this, but don't let it skew your view on what's really going on.

I think it's just a "We've hooked up and I'm starting to care about her" but maybe in only a good friend watching out for you kind of way. Don't count on a serious relationship with him without talking it over first though, because with being fwb, you never know if he actually has feelings for you now, or if he just cares because you guys hook up.
