Is it normal to be loyal to a person before a relationship even starts or even if we aren't even dating?

We flirt, I'm into them, but I'm not so sure about them. I'm sure he flirts with other women. We only talk online, never met, he lives far. I'm pretty loyal though as a person. I only chat to him, I'm always talking to him, and available for him, I text him back fast and I stop talking to everyone once we are talking. Is this stupid to do or do you think I should be talking to other people as well? We been talking since December

If you think there's a chance for you guys then you'd probably feel guilty if you weren't completely faithful right now, it wouldn't seem right to talk with him as much as you do, and say the things you say if you were seeing other guys.
If there is no chance bc of the distance between you two and it doesn't seem like you'll meet each other anytime soon, then yes you enjoy talking to one another but let's be realistic you're passing time with each other only and not seeing anyone else is doing you and him an injustice.

Only be loyal if he is your friend and he is loyal to you.
No need to be loyal of he is just a guy you think you may date but not actaully sure and ain't really his friend ethier yet.

I say talk to who you want until you'll want something serious.
