Making yourself appear bigger/stronger?

Do guys make themselves look bigger or stand in a position to show their muscles in an attempt to show interest? A guy I was talking to always faces his chest towards me, even if he's talking to someone else his shoulder will be slightly turned in my direction and yesterday he had his arm extended leaning on something above both of us and his body facing me on a diagonal, just wondering if other guys do this and do you think subconsciously or consciously?

Yes. When talking to a girl I find attractive I will face her squarely and straighten my posture and puff out my chest to make myself appear taller, more muscular, and to broaden my shoulders. I do it almost subconsciously but I am also aware that I'm doing it at the same time. I guess it's a mating instinct or something.

Girls have their own version of this. They will pout their lips, stick out their chests to draw attention to their breasts, widen their eyes to make them look bigger, etc. when they are talking to a guy they like.

Yes, women do it to. Facing the person you are interested in when in group conversations is basic body language. Men try to look bigger more masculine out of instinct, and women try to press their beasts forward to make them look bigger.

Yes, It's the "peacock effect" -- have you ever seen a peacock spread its feathers out? It looks massive and gorgeous. A guy stands taller straightens his shoulders, leans/hovers over you, etc. in the same manner when they're interested in you.

Women do the opposite. Our movements are smaller, we sit/stand in a position that makes us look smaller, more petite.

In ost cases it's subconscious/instinctive, but when a person realizes he/she is doing this, they might start doing it consciously.

When a guy's body is facing you, along with his shoulders turned your direction, it means that he's giving you his full attention and he's somewhat interested in you. This is a fact based on guys body language. He's obviously showing his interest in you and trying to get your attention by flexig to show off.

Yes. It's called body language. Everybody does it, but a lot people don't know enough about it to pick up on it. It's usually a subconscious thing, but if the person knows how body language works, then they can force themselves to do specific things to get certain messages across.

Look up some articles on Google if you want to learn more about it. Being able to read body language is a very useful skill to have :)

Guys subconsciously do that sort of thing to make them seem bigger and more impressive. Just a show for the girl they're into.

In a subconscious way..I will make myself appear bigger..if I like you..I believe this has to do with improper breathing..because we are nervous..

I try to stand sideways but that's just me. It's aukward though when someone is right next to you.

... peacocking is when you wear something to make yourself "flashier".

puffing out your chest or flexing is not "peackocking"... its simple behaviors that males do to grab women's attention like taking a lot of space (territory), show of strength, intelligence even, flirting...

My bad, have to get all technical with me. I know what peacocking is, I was just applying it because you are going out of your way to appear more desirable or attract more attention from women based on your appearance
