Guys, girls, how often do you catch strangers staring at you and what is your reaction?

A lot, I was relieved when I could wear masks because catcalling is so uncomfortable. If it's not cat calling, I don't mind but following me or being creepy by touching me (both happened many times) is beyond offensive. I have been paid nice compliments on occasion which I didn't mind. Women have complimented my style. A man once came up in a coffee shop to tell me I am beautiful. I heard some girls talking between themselves about how they think I look great. I don't mind those as long as it's respectful. I personally don't think I am so pretty, but any woman fits some men's sense of beauty so I have gotten enough attention.

Does having someone follow you around a store count? I just had that happen on Monday. A guy about my age looked at me like a deer in headlights. Then he kept popping up here and there when I'd round a corner. It was awkward all 5 times while he still had that look like he wanted to approach. I ducked and went to the other end of the store.

But THEN... I was at a different store when in walked 3 firemen. They were probably early 40s or so. Anyhow, I myself became the deer in headlights. So freaking embarrassing.

Yeah, I get that too. I do not even pay it any mind these days, however, I can feel it. People are allowed to look but do not touch or start showing up everywhere I am. I had that happen once and that freaked me out...

This lady at the airport was staring me down hard once.
Not in a sexual kind of way, but more of a "I'd like to walk over there and ring that skinny mother fucker's neck" kind of way.

Sometimes. Smile and keep doing whatever it is I'm doing. If I'm feeling chipper or bold, I'll say good morning/afternoon/evening, which either results in a conversation or they skulk away like a crab on the seafloor.
