I was talking with my coworker today and there’s this guy who I also work with who has shown a little interest in me in the past by complimenting me/teasing me but things have been a little weird lately. He is older than me. I’m early 20s and he’s late 20s or early 30s.
I was telling my female coworker today how I like older men and how they’re better looking than guys my age.
She agreed and was like “yeah I think there’s something in the chicken that they eat or something”
The guy I’m talking about who I thought may have been interested in me then walked by and was like “I don’t eat chicken” with a serious face but was kind of blushing.
What did he mean by this? I don’t get it.

He assumed that you two were referring to him in your conversation. Since he’s older, he thought he was one of the older men you think is attractive. A bit arrogant to jump to that conclusion, in my opinion.
I honest to God wasn’t talking about him directly but what did he mean by reacting that way? Was he flattered?
He's not angry.
But he's probably assuming that you're talking about him or at least that he's included in the category.
And he's a bit flustered...
Wait so why would he say that specific comment? Was he trying to say he wasn’t interested or something? Or just being funny?
Neither, he just felt like your chicken comment was inaccurate.
