Can you Understand Texting Abbreviations or do we need a Translator?

People seem to be sending me texts, and I'm thinking more and more, what does that mean! Can we just have plain English! What do you think?

Yes let's have plain English.

No the abbreviations are fun and I understand the meaning of them.

I haven't a clue what they mean, but I think they're fun anyway.

I understand some but generally I need to check what it mean on google; I'm French so English abbreviation and slang and hard for me to understand a lot of time (even in my own language I don't always understand them I prefer using plain language it's better).

I have messaging disabled on my phone. People should try it, it is wonderful. There is a thing called “actually talking” and it is a dying art.

No no no, much easier texting! But some people won't answer their texts, and I have to use a telephone? and it takes me much longer then.

Language is constantly evolving, to be upset at a lack of understanding the new slang means you’re not catching up to it fast enough.
