Is it a problem if he doesn't hold your hands?

So, I've been dating this guy for about a month now. He's not my boyfriend, but I think it'll eventually progress into a relationship, since we keep in touch every day and tell each other about our days, and we're cautiously starting to tell some of our closest friends about each other (well, I've told my best girl friends, and it seems that some of his friends already know about us... One of our mutual friends hinted to me that he knew about us as well)

He's wonderfully affectionate without being inappropriate, we kiss and hold hands and all that stuff in private. But when we're out on a date, he's never held my hands yet. We still walk very close to each other, and at the end of a date, he's happy giving me a goodnight hug and a kiss in front of my apartment. But my friends thought it was weird that he doesn't hold my hands in public. Is that really a problem? It doesn't automatically mean that he's embarrassed to be seen with me in public, does it?

No, my husband is a manly man lol I love him and he loves me but we don't really hold hands walking around. I use to wonder the same thing but as time passed I got to know him better, he is like a loner never really in a relationship and he is his own man, however if we go out with a group or in a crown we attach hands. Holding hands I think is to each there own. Just because he does not hold your hand all the time means he's emmbarresed to be seen with you, he is his own person and you are your own person with time I'm sure you will grow closer and you will not feel like that anymore. If he's going out with you, I think it's safe to say he's not embarrassed to be seen with you. It's possible he's uncomfortable with PDA or isn't sure how comfortable you are with it, especially since you guys aren't official yet. Why don't you initiate? One day when he's walking you home after a date, just slip your hand into his. Odds are, he'll be fine with it. If he seems reluctant or lets go quickly, ask him about it and you'll have your answer. I wouldn't worry too much about it though, it sounds like he really likes you.

i can't tell if he's embarrassed to hold your hand or not but you should not worry about it. maybe deep inside himself is a little shy 'cause he thinks it's too much for skinship. just saying my point of view.
