This guy I've been seeing is visiting me in a couple of weeks. We agreed/know that physical things will happen between us (no sex though), and he said that we will keep it "light" because "we don't know what we are at the moment".

I really like him and he says he likes me; he bought me some nice jewelry and is just generally really sweet with me.

I am so excited to see him and just spend private time with him and such. I asked him what he was most excited for and he said "just to see me and hang out".

What does this mean? Of course he is my friend and all but I am really excited for being alone together since we haven't seen each other in a while. Is he also excited for private things too?

What does "Just to see you and hang out" mean? It means...hmmm. I don't know. So nebulous. He wants to see you. Okay. That's cool. He wants to hang out. That's okay too.
