Is he not as interested to do so? he said "ok, but I may have to run errands later". I said "ok then if you're busy, never mind". he said "no it's cool I may not have many errands"

I mean what? and I thought he'd be a little more excited with his response instead of "ok" lol. I feel like i'm forcing him to hang out. what do you guys think?

update he ended up hanging out with me for 7 hours. And I even kept asking him if he wanted to go home if he was tired or had other things to do and he kept saying no. thanks everyone for the replies!

Texting does not often convey someone’s true feelings. I think we’re all guilty of reading more into someone’s rely on a text than we should. I would not minimize his excitement over coming by just because he said “ok”. It’s possible he was excited but wanted to respond casually to avoid coming across as too enthusiastic.

I think something is troubling him in his life, at work or with his family. Maybe something in his mind so he is stressed and not totally interested in hanging out.

Maybe give him a break and let him come to you and then later if he ask why your been kind off distance, be honest and tell him.

Well he is partly interested. At least he was being honest. Maybe he has a hard time saying no or disappointing you

he usually tells me if he's busy or tired and doesn't want to do something. but maybe he doesn't want to disappoint me, like you said. would he do this bc he likes me or just sees me as a friend? cuz friends are more straightforward with each other right?

Not all friends. I am only straightforward with my close friends so it depends on the depth of your friendship. He more likely just see you as a friend
