Personal trainers is being really flirty part of the job is him trying to get laid?

I've notice the personal trainer at my gym (in his 20s) flirts with girls around his age and very friendly. He is also nice to the elder woman. So my question is.. Is it put of the job and where the line you shouldn't cross? How can you tell he is doing his job vs trying to get laid? How do you tell?

Personal trainers have certain personalities and they are hired for a reason. You have to be good at working with a wide group of people. trainers get paid on commission only at most gyms so when you are given a client or a member comes to you, you have to be prepared to train just about anyone. Personal trainers have to basically sell themselves. Trainers have to keep it business and professional only, but for some that is easy to do and for others not so much. The longer you are in the profession the easier it becomes for most. I do find that for most young trainers both guys/ girls they do flirt a lot because they don't have much time for the outside world because they work long hours. It doesn't always mean they are trying to get laid. Trainers try and boost their clients ego because for most people who hire a trainer its because they want to make improvements on the way their body looks.

I had a trainer after me for a while. He would touch me while we trained for "spotting" purposed but then he would brush against me all the time and touch my shoulders or back when he saw me. He stared holes through me and watched me when I wasn't working out with him. He told me my boyfriend was lucky that he got to enjoy my body, told me I was hot and looked great (all the time)..It was very obvious he had the hots for me. I was in a relationship so I didn't reciprocate but I think he crossed some lines...just my 2 cents.

I think my trainer was friendly at first because I was a client but feelings developed as our friendship grew and I knew it was time to part ways.

Is there a way to tell when a line is being crossed or if he is still just doing hs job?

I think looking back, when he touches you in anyway without asking your permission first, when he makes comments that are sexual, when he stares at your breasts and body when he talks to you, when he texts you at 11 pm, etc. A lot of gyms have policies against their trainers acting unprofessionally too. If you are flirting with him at work or he's flirting with you when he's on the job, he could be jeopardizing his job. Look at how a female trainer treats her male client or vice versa.
