Did I make it too easy for him? How do I fix it?

So I became friends with this guy about 2 months ago, we work together. We became pretty comfortable with each other, we have a similar sense of humor and seem to have similar personalities. We got along great for weeks, and we even started flirting back and forth. I was so happy that he was showing signs of liking me, so I kept showing that I like him too. Then I went on vacation and we haven't really talked, and when I got back it's like we were back to point zero or even worse, because suddenly he does not talk to me much, doesn't ask me to hang out, just doesn't seem interested anymore. What happened? Did I make it too easy for him? He is a very outgoing, confident guy (at least on the outside), and I am like that too on the outside but am actually super insecure on the inside. The way he stopped showing interest and just kinda dropped it with me hurt me a bit, like what did I do? Are guys really in that much need of chasing after a girl, rather than just being happy that the girl likes them back and they can just progress? I'm confused, someone please shed some light on this :) Thanks!
