Do girls like an assertive guy or a laid back guy?

In my experience I've seen both work but the more laid back guy seems to do better. The assertive guy seems to just ask out a lot of girls and gets rejected till one approves. The laid back guy waits on girls and doesn't make an effort and some girls seem attracted to that but on the downside, the girls don't normally approach him even though they like him. One is more patient and one is more consistent so who is the one you'd prefer AND who is the one you would be more attracted to. (two different questions)

Assertive guys seem to be more pushy but sometimes girls like that a guy approaches them and the reason these guys seem to have more girls is because they take a lot of rejection but eventually find someone to be with. I'm personally the laidback kind because I'm not really a pushy person that seems kind of desperate to me and it's not my personality, but I have gotten a lot of girls to like me but rarely approach me.

i like a guy who is assertive, I think. I have a friend who was laid back and he was boring to me, all the girls liked him and flirted with him but he didn't talk much. his brother is fun and outgoing and I rather hang with him anytime of the day. his brother is also less attractive but (I dnt like him) if I had to choose id date his bro caus he's fun. the laid back guy, I would always have to talk to him to get him to talk to me.

assertive and pushy can go together and I see what you mean. a pushy guy did try to hit on me to the point where I was super freaked out and I teared when I was walking to my boyfriend house. I was jus so uncomfortable because he wouldn't take no for an answer and he got too close to me. I thought I was gona have to kick him and run but he had 5 friends with him so that wasn't an option .

I like the assertive guy, but that's mostly because I prefer to be chased rather than do the chasing... of course, there's a difference between assertive and pushy, and once a guy crosses it, it becomes ridiculous...on the other hand, I hate laid-back guys, because I never know if they're interested, or just indulging me...

I prefer assertive.he makes his interest known.he's only pushy and desperate if he keeps trying after I don't return his interest.desperate pushy guys are the ones who chase after girls who have no interest in them and don't like them.that's not the same as assertive.

Who says you can't be both assertive and laid back?

By that I mean

Assertive in the sense that you take initiative, approach the woman, get her number, call her, setup the date, choose the place to go, etc.

Laid back in the sense that you are really casual about it, you don't care about the outcome when you talk to a woman, you don't excessively compliment her or come off too strong.

Both work, together.

You're totally creating a false dichotomy.

You can have a guy who is straightfoward and direct with women, but has a very relaxed personality.

I think many women want this, and that's why there are lots of conflicting answers here.
