P.S. Does walking up to a girl and saying “hi” actually work?
If a guy doesn't know what to say to a girl is that a sign of low confidence?

In a way yes it is a sign of low confidence. The way to talk to women though is to forget that they are pretty and that you want to have sex with them. Look at them as flawed people just like you and without any expectations of them liking you simply talk. It can be about the weather, about the fact that she and your sister have the same taste in shoes, about a crazy gay dude who grabbed your ass in the gym. Also talk to girls when you have other guy friends around it makes you look cooler. So whenever you see a girl forget that you want to have sex with her and treat her as you would with any other person.
No. Guys get tongue-tied when they are around a girl they find really attractive. Just remember to breathe and mentally tell yourself to calm down and smile. The words will come along on their own.
It happens to girls in a slightly different way. A girl may look at a guy and then be too shy to keep looking, so she looks away; the guy ends up thinking she's not interested, but she's just shy.
Is it low confidence? No. It's the sort of shy vibe that hits when you're attracted. Many people can be confident in all other walks of life but this one. Why? (*Shrug!*)
The threat of being shot down increases the more attractive they seem (to you) to be. The thoughts turn to "don't blow this" instead of what's going on with them. Focus on THEM, this is what makes YOU attractive to them and takes YOUR focus off YOU. Now that you became attractive (caring for them), the jitters just transferred over to them. Let them squirm a bit.
#1 rule of salesmanship = perform a caring service that all about them = they will care enough about you to throw you a bone
