Why does he ignore me when he's around his sister?

My boyfriend ignores me completely, when he is around his sister. He doesn't talk to me, he doesn't even look at me. It's really frustrating, and it has got to a point where I dread going to his parents house, when she's there.

We was at a family birthday this weekend, and I had to meet the rest of his family for the first time... He left me alone and he knew I was nervous about meeting them. It wasn't until a family friend reminded him about his girlfriend, that he came over and sat with me.

I know blood is thicker than water, and I don't to come between him and his sister. Since we've only been together 3 months, I'm afraid to bring it up, any Ideas what to do?

Gonna have to bite the bullet and ask him. Be calm and smile when you ask though. There might be some raw nerves there.

One possibility (if it's an older sister) is that he might have grown up hearing her run down guys for wanting sex and be uncomfortable showing his attraction to you around her. Lots of other things it could be though. Best to find out from him. Whatever you do, don't turn it into a nagging thing though. A bit of teasing might work.

they are family and he probably doesn't want the sister to feel alienated by being especially doting on you. of course now he's reversed it so you feel alienated.

i think you should just mention it to him. say you understand and love that he has a good relationship with his sister but that you sometimes feel like you are invisible when he is with her. just ask that he try to be mindful of this because you do feel alienated

If you've only been dating 3 months, he's not going to put you ahead of his family. No guy would.

Just be patient. Give it time, and eventually you will be more important to him than they are. That's how relationships go.
