Would you date someone who rejected you initially?

If someone rejected you in the past, and say six months down the line, they ask to start hanging out/date for real, would you give them a chance?

Are things really that black and white?

The only thing I see is that it's much more admirable and sensible if it's the girl who turns down the guy, because then he sees it as a challenge, which is fitting and respectable.

But if it's the guy who rejects the girl, and all of a sudden he wants things to change and wants to be in your life, would that be different?

Should you be suspicious?

My situation is the latter.

It would depend on the nature of the rejection. If they were a major jerk and acted better than me, then hell no, I'd never say yes the second time around. If he had been respectful in turning me down and had a legitimate reason, then I may consider it. It's all about feeling for me, meaning how I feel about you and your intentions. I'm pretty good at reading people, so I wouldn't even ask a guy out if I wasn't sure he was attracted to me. So the chances of him turning me down because of lack of attraction is next to none. I only stress that because, if he'd turned me down due to lack of attraction, I wouldn't say yes the second time because I'd be less confident in the relationship. I'd always wonder if he's truly attracted to me because he wasn't before, and I can't have that. So really, this one definitely depends on the situation.

From the point of view of the girl who did the rejecting, yes I would date them.

I ran into a guy I went to high school with in September, and after hanging out almost everyday for almost a month he told me he liked me and wanted to get to know me better. I was caught by surprise, so I told him that he's a really great guy but I'm not ready for more just yet. We continued spending a lot of time together, even went away for a few days and shared a hotel room. My feelings for him grew and we're dating now. :)

No I wouldn't. You reject me the first time then you lose. I'm also a virgin and never been with a girl. Just shows that there are real guy that won't mess with some insecure girls! If yo reject me the first time, then you were not meant for any of my time, and I wouldn't think twice of giving you a chance! Love should be freely given, not chased!

I think when I was younger I would have. Now? I'd be very wary. Depends on the circumstances of the initial rejection, but my general concern is ... if they're that into me, they'd have said yes the first time, and if they weren't that into me then, I don't think I want to be in a monogamous relationship with them.
