It's a skill everyone needs. Whenever I hear about someone not being able to cook I think they're pretty lazy and waste tons of money. It's really something basic to cook.
being the sole financial provider IS in fact a 'masculine' trait. what are you talking about? that is why men earn more then women in every single occupation, even while working the same position.
historically, men were the breadwinner , think about the division of labor. "The first primary role in the family of the MAN is to show loving leadership over wife and children" and "The second primary role in the family of the MAN is to be the "breadwinner" Works to make money to support family". case closed
The reason is there... part of being a man is being able to provide for his family financially, and the women have to mainly provide emotional support. MAN OF THE HOUSE is what I mean.
@dothejohnwall97 ... not sure where you came to that assumption from. I think gender roles (women in dresses, men in pants) is okay for tradition. But I also think justifying men being confined to the kitchen and men being the primary/sole breadwinners by default is disgusting and ready to be left behind.
no of course men can be in the kitchen as well. but men are men and women are women. we are not supposed to be the same and will never be the same. men are naturally physically and emotionally stronger than women. We are logical whereas women are more emotional.
@dothejohnwall97 .. men and women are both logical/emotional. I mean.. unless you're trying to tell me that men are capable of only thinking with their dicks?
I guess I'm not seeing how it isn't. Like that's the main job of a wife, if not for cooking, what the fuck else would women do with themselves all day.
The greatest chefs in the world have been men.. ( and finally women) Culinary arts is vastly male populated. Any guy that says cooking is feminine is probably a latent Homo Gordon Ramsey, Anthony Bordain, 2 of many, nothing fem about them..
Men and women both cook. I cook better than my wife in many instances. However, it is a social norm that women should cook an that makes them more attractive as wives and partners.
I read all the opinions and it seems that no women think it is not a feminine trait. But more surprising is a agreement that Dads's and boyfriends cook more often and cook great. How is it that Feminist have ignored men taking over this skill.
Nope, some of the best chefs in the world are men. It's pretty gender neutral in general I'd say, but I would consider baking to be more feminine and grilling to be more masculine

Growing up my dad has been the real cook in my family, not my mom, so I don't consider it a feminine thing at all
Definitely not. And cooking isn’t specific to one gender. A lot of chefs and cooks are male as well. I say it’s almost 50/50.
It's a skill everyone needs. Whenever I hear about someone not being able to cook I think they're pretty lazy and waste tons of money. It's really something basic to cook.
no.
I mean... not any more than working full-time and being the sole financial provider is a 'masculine' trait.
being the sole financial provider IS in fact a 'masculine' trait. what are you talking about? that is why men earn more then women in every single occupation, even while working the same position.
@dothejohnwall97 .. not true but hey, you're a 20 year old troll so I'll leave you be with your own little alternate reality.
read the academic journals, those are scholars words not mine. i do not agree that men should earn more but they do for those reasons.
@dothejohnwall97 ... for which reasons? You failed to list any other than that they're men.
🤣

@dothejohnwall97 ... I asked for a REASON. Not for you to regurgitate how things have been done throughout history.
The reason is there... part of being a man is being able to provide for his family financially, and the women have to mainly provide emotional support. MAN OF THE HOUSE is what I mean.
@dothejohnwall97 ah. Right.
I guess you're a proponent of the whole 'men think with their dicks' movement.
and i guess you are a proponent of the 'men should wear skirts and paint their nails' and 'women should have the balls in the house' movement.
@dothejohnwall97 ... not sure where you came to that assumption from.

No, it's a basic life skill. If some men feel too masculine to cook then they're that much less competent and self-sufficient in my books.
I guess I'm not seeing how it isn't. Like that's the main job of a wife, if not for cooking, what the fuck else would women do with themselves all day.
It's an essential skill everybody should have to not get obese while eating out constantly.
Nothing feminine.
The greatest chefs in the world have been men.. ( and finally women) Culinary arts is vastly male populated. Any guy that says cooking is feminine is probably a latent Homo
Gordon Ramsey, Anthony Bordain, 2 of many, nothing fem about them..
It is neither feminine or masculine. It's a skill that everyone should have. Sadly, I am not one of those people.
Um, no lol. Maybe a gender role chore, but it's not a feminine trait lol. The best chefs in the world aren't all women... lol
Of course not. There are more male cooks than female in my country (i think)
No, I consider it something every adult should know how to do.
Men and women both cook. I cook better than my wife in many instances. However, it is a social norm that women should cook an that makes them more attractive as wives and partners.

Uh, it's a trait of people who want to eat and not be a lazy dick
it'd be so much more charming if a guy knows how to cook
I do not because usually a chef was male before the modern age.
No. I consider it an indicator or a health conscious, intelligent, independent person.
I view it as a vital skill that everyone should know
Not exactly a feminine trait but it's always nice especially when one cannot cook well for oneself.
