At first in Italy when I heard a couple in a tour group commenting that she was sad when one of the menus had rabbit stew. At first I be thinking they must be eating domestic rabbits meant as pets. Most meat rabbits are kept in cages and fed standard diet of water, rabbit pellets, hay, and the occasional treat just like pets. In America commercial meat rabbits are typically Californians or New Zealands. Other than that people hunt cotton tails and eat them.
