Women scientists say it must be local honey you're eating, and the closer to home the better. Male scientists say that you can get the same results from eating different honeys from all over the world. I try to understand the science, but it's so confusing. Candy is bad for you, but eating your honey is good? It makes no sense. I was just talking to a man about this on this site. He agrees with me. He said that it's all about moderation, and not eating too many sweet thangs.
I think this question is more about stirring up male v female arguments than honey.
People have allergies to different types of pollen, be it grass, flowers, trees etc. That's why different people get hay fever different times of the year.
However honey isn't pollen, it's bee vomit. They chuck up into each others mouths and the last one spits it into a honey comb cell. The amount of pollen that gets in honey is tiny and has zero effect on allergies.
People claiming otherwise aren't scientists, they're salesmen spouting misinformation.

Local honey is made from the pollen of local plants. These will help you resist allergies where you live. It has nothing to do with male or female “scientists”. Any doctor or nurse or farmer or old person, male or female, confirms the same thing.
Raw organic honey has many more beneficial compounds, and the types of sugars are different from candy to begin with.
I think pollens range on a toxicity spectrum, and for some people eating pine pollen alleviated other pollen allergies.

I DON'T think there is a statistically significant correlation with gender and pollen theory opinions.
