What are some unique toppings for a hot dog?

So I just had lunch. I made tuna salad last night but I wasn’t in the mood for it today so I grilled some hot dogs on the stove. I was craving something different than the ol mustard, ketchup, and relish. So I looked up some different hot dog options and I found out that onions, tomatoes, and pickles are delicious on a hot dog. I also added a bit of cheese, mustard, and sweet relish. ‘Twas delicious 😋

If you want more veggies then stuff like sauerkraut, onions, slices of tomatoes, sport peppers or pepperoncini peppers in addition to whatever relish or slice of pickle, mustard, and or ketchup. If you want a heart attack then chili, cheese, bacon bits, jalapeño, onion, etc.

I don't know of anything I'd call really unique, but I've one of my fav dogs is a chili, cheese and slaw dog with jalapeno's and yellow mustard! On the streets of NYC, they sell "dwf's" ( dirty water franks) with onions in a warm red sauce and basic kraut. Also awesome.

Shredded sharp cheddar cheese, onions, and chili dog sauce. Melted American cheese with relish or pickles. Sauerkraut and dijon mustard. Mayochup might taste good on a hotdog too.

For me , Id take out the bread part , but I've cooked like this previously , sometimes with a better sausage , but.. its a dish to behold , and home cooked with the carbs out , not too bad ( sausage dependent ) :)

Put French’s Crispy Fried Onions under the hot dog on the bun. Someone showed me and they are great with a hotdog.
