What meal did you prepare that received a lot of compliments and good feedback? For me one of them is Cajun garlic butter shrimp and sautéed green beans over rice.
I have few parade dishes in my repertoire because I perfected them often over years but I wouldn't say I'm a master cook. I had to cook for me and my younger brother quite often because my parents traveled a lot and I learned some tricks while watching cooking shows in German TV and Tim Mälzer explained basics very well in his shows. I can make good quality bird and beef broths, au jus, roux and basics any cooking trainee in first years should know but I'm surely not a pro cook.

I do actually pride myself on being a jolly good cook and a reasonably good baker.
However, my husband far surpasses me with both his truly amazing adventurous, and experimentative culinary skills.
I'm like an idiot savant. I can recreate my wife's favorite restaurant dish on her birthday because I think I can sort of tell what ingredients people put into a dish by just tasting it. But I also can't bake worth a damn because then I have to follow instructions, and I find that so boring.

I'm an excellent cook. Being a guy, I can cook anything. I refuse to cook without spices though. (Hey, I like my food to have flavor). I have my own recipe cards and a spice rack. Adding spices makes a difference when cooking.
I was in foster care too. My parents didn't really take care of me, so I was always cooking for myself. Since I was little.
I'm decent. Everyone's favorite is the chicken jalapeno popper soup.
No, I'm not a good cook but I can prepare food that people will eat... no one starves.
My best dish is probably penne ala vodka, with some chicken added.
I love cooking but I have to get better but I did made a delicious wet burrito with my mom, when I have my own place someday I told my family we do a BBQ us men will be dealing with the meat on the grill while the women will be in charge of sides.

Everyone always asks for my Kansas City slow smoked ribs that I do on my Big Green Egg. Either that or I'll make my smoked ribs with Carolina BBQ sauce and rub. They also like my grilled rice cakes with caramelized peanut satay sauce and green onion.
I also recently made stuffed Walleye with bread stuffing, asparagus, baby leaf spinach, swiss cheese and cranberry sauce. That went over well with some friends.
Yes I am a good cook and I love cooking one has got to eat right so you may as well be good at it. know one has died from eating something I have made ,, yet lol
I put a lot of effort and care into my meals but I’m slow because I don’t have experience.
Not really. I can only make really basic things and even those don’t always turn out good lol
I learned how to cook a little during the time i was unemployed.
Sorta I mean cooking kinda scares me because I don't want to end up burning myself

I can cook well and it tastes greatMost recently was pasta with a garlic cream sauce, turkey, carrots and corn. I was using up leftovers, but got lots of compliments on it nonetheless
My pancakes, pasta carbonara and dessert wise my mudcake, sugarcake and chocolate coffee cake have all received acclaim.
I think I'm decent. It's been ages since I cooked for someone else though.
Good is an understatement. I am exceptional in this and really proud as I have spent a lot of time learning, reading, and cooking. I know recipes from different European countries, Indian, Asian, Chinese, and Mayan and even the locals have no clue anymore. I have directly translated them from Latin, Sanskrit, and Chinese. However, it's still a hobby for me.
I'm a good cook, was taught by both grandmothers Cumberland recipes from one side German Jewish the other, The recipe from by Cumberland recipe book would be Hotpot with Black Pudding and pickled Red Cabbage would be my most complemented, and from my Jewish cook book it would be the Noodle Kugel that gets the most compliments.
