Like its clear that maybe only ate a little bit and then decided to throw the rest away. does this bother you witnessing this?
My parents grew up during the depression so, they know full well all about not wasting food!! Grandma used to clean out the fridge every month and toss it into a big pot for stew, if something had mold on it, she'd scrape off the mold and toss the rest into the pot and feed that stew to her family!!
I used to work at a 7-11 in the mid `90's on the graveyard shift and, every morning around 4 a. m., the Dunkin Donut guy would come in to replace the stock in our donut racks and he'd throw out anything that was left from yesterday. I couldn't see all that food going to waste so, I asked if I could have them to feed the birds. He said, go right ahead! So, every morning, I'd take home a bag of day old donuts. Some of them, I'd eat myself, others I'd give to anyone that wanted them and the rest would go to the birds or the dog.
Then, there's my niece! Skinny as a stick and is probably bolemic or anorexic! We'll have a family get together and when it comes time to eat, she really loads up her plate!! But, after we're done eating, there's STILL a HUGE pile of food on her plate because she only ate a few small bites!! She throws the rest, perfectly good food, in the garbage!! RATHER than just take what she's GONNA eat and leave the rest for the others to eat if they want it, she takes huge helpings and tosses most of it away!! Grandma would've had a major shit fit if she lived long enough to see that!!

It bothers me but if it's served to a person whatever isn't consumed has to be thrown out. It can't, under the department of health regulations, be given to a homeless person. You don't know if they put something in the food

Only if it's food that's perfectly good and can still be eaten. Other than that, I hate if a lot of perfectly good food is dropped on the floor and must be thrown away.
It does really bother me. We live in an incredibly wasteful and spoiled society, and it just pains me to see food go to waste. Another thing I don't like is people who won't keep leftovers, or who always put leftovers in the fridge and never eat it, so it winds up in the garbage anyway. I never waste food and other than normal kitchen scraps from cooking (like trimmings from veggies or meat, which goes to the compost anyway), I waste very little to no food at all. I can't even remember the last thing I had to throw out due to negligence or laziness.
I hate seeing people wasting food. If it's rotten, I understand why they're throwing it away. But it's perfectly fine, then they should give it to someone who needs it.
I know what's like to have no food. It's not something I wish to others.
Yes, it does bother me, there are times that I have to go to food pantries to get food and these places only can give you so much, and I have no money to buy anything because my money goes on high utility companies you either pay them companies or go without electric, water, sewage, gas, etc.
Really depends on how much and why they threw it out. If it's a lot of food and they threw it out after only eating a little bit, yea it really bothers me, but if it's just scraps their throwing out, or the food is inedible then it doesn't bother me.
Yes. Particularly at a buffet, where they can keep going back until they're full, but they'd rather pile up their plate and leave half of it. The only food I'll throw away is bad or doesn't taste right.
In a perfect world yes, but in our imperfect world than no.
A bit
I worked in a restaurant, if it could be eaten albeit not sold we'd either eat it in the kitchen or take it away with us
Squid legs albeit turned into calamari, lobster claws and sirloin caps were common fareYes, it bothers me a lot. Its a wasteful way of living. I don't get people who buy a lot of food, for example in restaurants, and half of it they don't eat.
It bothers me. And this is why I was angry growing up because my parents put more on my plate than I could chew, literally. Everytime, so much waste. Kept cooking that same amount. And no homeless person nearby to give the rest overs too.
yes when people throw away food, waste food, buy new food when they already have food in the fridge D:
No. It's just food. Theoretically with this food starving people could be feed but there is the issue of logistic.
When it's large amounts of food like what Nikocado Avocado throws away, then yeah.
It does, but not as much as it bothers me to see people throwing away recyclables. Especially when there are recycling receptacles nearby.
Only if it is untouched,
Yes, it is such a waste.
Yeah I don't like to waste
Yes it does.
