I work overnight at a casino. The environment with the employees and the staff in general here is sort of high school (ish). It’s different departments and people have their friend groups/cliques. I’m cordial with people but no one here is actually my friend. I work and go home. I had one close friend that worked here and she quit. I order food from time to time from Uber eats for lunch. My co workers do as well but they’ll order food for each other and share food with one another etc but they never include me and it doesn’t bother me. I order my own food. One time I ordered a pizza and shared it but it’s pizza. Who doesn’t share pizza? Today was no different. I ordered some food, my co worker saw me eating in the break room and she goes “You got some nerve. You always order food and never tell anyone else that you’re gonna order it.” I felt bad but it’s like, they don’t ask me if I want anything when they order food, everyone has their own money and I’m not obligated to do it. When the girl that I was actually friends with still worked at the Casino, we would order food together but we actually liked each other and we still talk/communicate even though she no longer works here. I don’t even have my other co workers numbers, not even my co worker who made that comment. So it’s like, why is she making me seem like the bad/selfish guy?

No, you’re not being selfish. You have no real connections and therefore no obligations to tell anyone what you’re ordering or eating. If they’re mad about it, then they can get over it. It’s not your job to cater, it’s your job to do your job and you can order food as you please for whomever you want. If they have a complaint, I’m sure they can make one to HR and then hear how stupid they sound about complaining that you’re eating your food that you ordered for yourself as if they have a right to your meal.
