Can We Survive Without DONUTS?

Dunkin Donuts stores in parts of the United States are running out of donuts, due to supplier issues. Can people survive without donuts? What will they dunk in their coffee?

Here's the story...

Some US states not running on Dunkin’ doughnuts due to temporary supply shortage

Absofuckinglutely! The donut shops that actually make donuts in house will survive however if they are a chain donut shop that has a central hub that makes donut they’re screwed & hopefully that will teach them a lesson.

There was a day where Dunkin Donuts actually made donuts in house & now the donuts are shipped in & some of the the local store bake them & fill them & some don’t.

Plan B: Go to a bagel shop buy plain bagels, stop at another store & buy sprinkles & chocolate.

I have a stack of Dunkin Donut gift cards from work. I have never used one in 5 years. The place sort of sucks now. They have lost their focus on donuts and now want to sell all sorts of fast food. I think they will be out of business soon. There is a donut place nearby that makes fresh donuts on premises like Dunkin Donuts used to do and the parking lot is always full.

What do you think of Dunkin Donuts?

Personally I have never cared for Dunkin Donuts donuts. They are like hard cake inside.
I prefer Krispy Kreme donuts and the ones that are family owned by Oriental people because they make the best donuts ever and they melt in your mouth. Yummy 😋
My favorite are the raspberry filled and maple bars.
      What are your favorites?

@sage2021 There was a Dunkin Donuts at the local mall and when I was a kid they were just taking the donuts out of the fryolator. I think I got 4 or 5 plain donuts , fresh from the fryolator and I ate them all. I had such a bellyache but they were good.

I never have been a Dunkin Donut fan... but yeah, the place down the street... they make these applesauce ones that I would almost die for. But never, ever would I dunk one of those wonderful creations into coffee. It would ruin both the donut and the coffee.

Interesting the article uses the correct spelling of "Doughnuts" rather than the American "donuts" I assume it's an American news site.

But I want to know what savage dips doughnuts into coffee? A common meal in the UK used to be a slice of bread in a bowl covered in boiling water or beef stock or tea. It's still enjoyed in parts. Is this doughnut in coffee the American equivalent?

Thank you for pointing out the spelling error. We may not agree on a lot, but we do where it matters.

We must endeavour to correct every American who spells it wrong.

@Levin But the real question is do you like doughnuts? I love donuts, but I don't like flying on an airplane. I love berries on my yogurt and going to the theater. Oh, and green is my favorite color... That last one was a twofer. How DO you put up with us? 🙃

Life without donuts is hardly worth living! But never something like what Dunkin' Donuts mistakenly calls donuts. I mean the real thing like the place just down the street makes... I never see a sunrise, except on Sunday mornings when I get up and quietly slip out of the house to get a dozen fresh out of the ovens to have at our breakfast table. Manna from Heaven.

  • Surviving without donuts is certainly possible, though for donut enthusiasts, it might feel like a temporary loss of joy. There are always alternative treats to pair with coffee, such as biscotti, which provide a delightful crunch and are perfect for dunking. I remember visiting a quaint bakery in Italy where they served almond biscotti with espresso, and it was a revelation! Each sip and dunk offered an exquisite blend of flavors. 🍪☕

No need to go without doughnuts (or donuts) here. Krispy Kreme has two locations near me and makes enough that they also sell them to a local store chain for resale. Plus there are various other lesser known stores that make their own. All the cops around here are perfectly happy.

Every Thursday for the past 4 years, I have bought doughnuts for my office staff. And I have never eaten even one of those doughnuts because I do a low carb diet. So, yes, it is possible to live without doughnuts. . . but living without fried chicken, that would be a real challenge!

Lol… I think we can. I can’t remember the last time I had one. I think my grandparents were still alive… and they had a nice blueberry cake doughnut we used to love. We’d stop on Sundays as a treat. I don’t think they make those anymore. Don’t you have Tim Hortons or Crispy Cream? Those should do if you’re craving doughnuts. (It’s not like the basic ingredients aren’t publicly available.)
